Okay, I know there have to be others out there who like this underground comic by Shannon Wheeler. Or...at least I'm hoping there are. So if you like it, or have at least heard of it, come on in and we can talk about it.
Good one. Actually, he has no powers...the creator just used the coffee mug as symbolism so people would....lost my train of thought...so they'd catch on... I can quote it if you want me to. It's actually a very insightful, sarcastic, cynical comic...very funny stuff, and it makes you think. I'm hoping others have heard of him, because it's really good stuff...well, until he started doing strips for the papers...then I think it all went to hell.
Too Much Coffee Man started as a joke. I was trying to think up an iconographic character that would allow me some recognition with an audience. It was a bad visual pn. The handle on the mug on his head is the metaphorical handle for people to "grab" on to for quick and easy recognition.
My biggest buden now with Too Much Coffee Man is having people tell me that they love my comic because they love coffee. I wish they'd tell me that they love my comic because it's clever, or well drawn, or insightful. At least they're enjoying it, even if it is for reasons that I don't feel flatter me. That type of complaint falls in the category of "things you can't complain about."
I love drawing cartoons. It's all real. All the emotions come from my heart. I do my best to share my honest feelings, insecurities, anxieties, and observations about life.

There you go, now doesn't that at least sound a bit interesting?
Hmm...well, actually it's a him. That afterword was good because it gave a glimpse into what kind of person he is. There was more to it than just that, but I only quoted what you asked about. He's just saying that he wishes people would like it for what he sees it as, instead of just for liking coffee. It really is a good comic, and it talks more about the ironies of life...and how stupid some things are. It's really not a superhero comic...more of an observational and make fun of life kind of thing.
