...Jethro Tull according to some.

Tina Turner really needed to retire.

The Rolling Stones are coming up on being placed in a home.

McCartney hasn't produced a relevant album since Wings.

Who else?

Nobody is ever too old to rock. Some, however, are too young to appreciate good rock.

oh wait..i thought this thread was about something else

I'll differ to Grace Slick on this one. She thinks it looks ridiculous and I have to agree. Besides, what's rock about?

Defiance and a hot for sex attitude as preached by a 70 year-old millionaire with a limp cock (or degenerating legs) is kinda sad and irrelevant.

If anyone even threatens to utter the name "Springsteen" there's going to be sooooo much trouble!!!:)

Robert Plant comes to mind. Great voice still, but he definitely looks like he could be the father of a Rolling Stone.

Will some one PLEASE tell Britney Spears to get the hell out of Rock music. She ruined Joan Jet's "I love Rock n Roll' and not to mention pulled Areosmith down to shame when she sang with them....ugggh..

Ok I feel better now. :)

Defer to GS if you wish but her opinion holds no sway with me.

Rock in its early days did represent what you said but that has not been the case for many years. What it now respresents is just good music.

BULLSHIT! Britney Spears is a rebel if there ever was!

I don't think its about age so much as it is about attitude, outlook, all that...

Some people were always too "old" to rock - even when they were kids. Other's can just keep on rocking. I hope I'm one of those who can keep on keeping on.

I think Townsend can still rock. So does Pink Floyd (David Gilmour, not Roger Waters). Frank Zappa could have kept on rocking if he was still alive. King Crimson (Fripp) can rock out like nobody's business and he's been around as long as anyone.

Patti Smith can still Rock! The Ramones could have kept on if they could have managed to stay alive.

The Rolling Stones gave up the ghost 20 years ago. They're a joke.

Amen, sistah!

You said it, Belle!!!!

Slutney Spears needs to move on....and maybe do voice overs for cartoons or something??

ROFLMAO

Rebel? No

Wannabe Rock chick? Yes

And she'll never be...when the girl grows up, actually rights an album and produces HER OWN STUFF in Rock, then I might goes a far as to call her an artist. But I wont hold my breath lol

I was being a tad facetious, or sarcastic.

Pink Floyd? Certainly....

Pink Floyd did lose a lot when Roger Waters split...but I don't think it was his singing voice. David Gilmore's voice is much more entrancing IMO. And his guitar work puts you on a different plane altogether.

Two words for Brittney Spears....."Debbie Gibson"

sad sad sad

okay, many group can get away with playing on and on for decades but the WORST by far of the oldies had to be...

...Loverboy

Back in the 80's they used to sing about 'working for the weekend' . I even used to wear a headband just like the lead singer. How gay was that? (not that theres anything wrong with that)

I saw them making a comeback and the lead singer is like 250 pounds and still wearing his headband flopping over the stage singing about snagging that hot chick...oh god it was sooo freeking pathetic I almost lost my lunch.

sometimes they just need to fade away........

Now they were never rock, and they were never really real either. They did have some wonderfully well written little pop tunes and tremendous production values, and they were very very cute to my 11 year old mind. Now I just find it's really pathetic whenever I see the aging Monkee's trying to get another tour again.

Maybe they should be banned to Branson, Mo?
