I'm 38 and cutting a wisdom tooth. Oh, the humility of it all.

Now, where did I put my babies' teething rings?

No wonder babies are cranky. This fucking hurts. :(

Finally a thread with some interest...

I'll give you something to nibble on Doll Face

Having had a nibble or six last night, I can tell you Ruby, to say yes, you will NOT regret it.

Lo :p

damn girl

Looks like a trip to the Oral Surgeon. Take the truth serum, so we can ask you questions....

Hmmm .... you know Ruby eating ice always helped me with my wisdom teeth discomfort ...

Hope you feel better soon. :)

Sorry babe, wasn't thinking of the soft spot in your HEART. Somewhere else maybe... ;)

And to think that framing costs are high.

Oral surgery is not fun, on your mouth or your pocket book.

:(

Ruby do you have plans to go to a Oral Surgeon? There's nothing too it. I had three of mine out last year, tenderness in the jaw for a few days but really not much pain...but then maybe it was all the drugs they gave me :)

Lo...

Thanks for the sympathy and giggles you guys.

Morgy, I had my lower wisdom teeth out when I was 25. The surgeon said the top ones would likely never come in.

I've been cutting the top left one for 3 years now. It hurts for a while and pushes out a bit and then stops for a few months. When it first started (3 years ago), my dentist told me to let it come in as much as possible before getting it pulled because it would make the surgery less invasive.

It hurts like a bitch this time though. I even took a pain pill last night. I'm scheduled to see the dentist at the end of the month. That was the soonest they could get me in. :(

Ruby I had my molars taken out in September, if I can deal with the pain of having them taken uot, then surely you can babe.

Lo

On the bright side, I've discovered that a cocktail or two greatly helps with the pain.

It's for medicinal purposes only, you understand. ;)

Ruby sweets,
I felt your pain or rather I did, last year.

Liquor, pain pills, lots of oralgel...I hope you feel better, soon!

That bone pain is a bitch! The flesh pain can be suppressed with Orajel or a paste of ground cloves applied to the affected gums.

Ummm, Cosmopolitans. :) Morgy is a girl after my own heart.

Raindancer, I'm glad I'm not the only one this old and teething. ;)

patient1, cloves? Um, I think I'll stick with cocktails. :)

a few months ago I had a terrible infection. I am talking really bad, I had to wait 4 days before I could get in to see the dentist, I think I overdosed on the Orajel, I packed cloves around my tooth, I took a zillion meds...the only thing that took the pain away was Crown Royal :D

Tis my way little way of trying to woo you oh so subtly

The last time mine acted up badly was about two years ago. The top ones on both sides decided to surface, and there was no way to get to a dentist, as we were literally in the process of moving.

They cut large holes in the inside of my cheeks. I could barely eat, even with such huge amounts of Orajel, that I couldn't taste anything. Constant pain, and I was starving! Misery.

Can I bitch? Just for a sec, I promise.

Ok, cocktails aren't helping anymore.

You're right, April. It feels like it's growing into my cheek.

/end whine

I know how the cutting of teeth feel...I had to do the samething raindancer did...was drugged up all day at work with pain pills...and drunk all night...it was HORRIBLE!!! After getting them pulled I felt nothing though...I love my dentist :) I didn't even need any of the pain pills after he pulled my teeth.

Hope ya feel better soon Ruby!!!

I feel for you...I've gotten through three of them and still have one that isn't in any hurry come out. My Grandma was in her 50's when she got her last one so it could be a while..I'm only 32.
