I think I'm getting my tongue pierced on Sunday evening or Monday evening... anything I should be aware of?

Don't yell at anyone you don't want to know about it.

And post pics of you licking something. Please. For the community.

when it's healed, of course, I'll take pics...

If you get some pellet ice (the tiny, crunchy kind) and consume it as often as possible on the day of your piercing, you will be able to prevent a lot of potential swelling. You'll also numb the small amount of pain that you'll have at the site of the piercing.

When I had mine done, I had absolutely no pain at the time of the piercing, or after, and minimal swelling. The endorphin rush I got from the actual piercing was completely incredible, too.

Do be sure to size down to an appropriately sized stud once you're healed. There is nothing more tacky than ill fitting jewelry. Plus, a too-long stud can and probably will damage the enamel on your teeth. Take care of your teeth by not clicking your jewelry on 'em, even if you're very very tempted.

Good luck, and enjoy!

I've had mine for a year and half without any problems. I found popsicles were good to get the swelling down. It was murder for me to stay away from spicy food though!

Damn....I thought this was about studs with tongues not tongues with studs.

Yes, oral hygiene is very important. Listerine may sting but....

good luck

Buy regular Listerine ahead of time, they'll recommend it.

The theory I heard on tongue piercings was that girls that are good at oral sex, it takes away from the experience - but girls who aren't that good at it, it added that extra touch. I have no idea if that is true or not.

Don't drink milk or eat dairy products, no oral sex and um...you should buy some slurpees and cold drinks before you go.

i've had a few girlfriends with studs in their tounges. i liked it alot! the only thing, be carefull when you "use" it... sometimes you can press TOO hard with the damn thing, trust me, it hurt

You should buy the kind of mouth wash that doesn't sting...it's a special kind...um...it doesn't have any stinging and is good for tongue rings.

Tongue piercings heal so quick! About a week! Then you can fit a shorter bar in which will be heaps more comfortable!

Oh yeah....LOTS & LOTS of icey cold stuff for the first few days!!

:p
:D

I also find them a bit icky, why do you want to do this? Is your tongue not perfect and wonderful as it is?

Pierce your clit hood instead. Nobody knows it's there except you and your lover, which is a deliciously naughty feeling, plus, it gives you pleasure. You won't believe the sensations that come from putting a vibe to a piece of metal that's vibrating against your clit.

Just hope you don't get pierced by the wrong person, in the wrong place, in the wrong time.

Back in Columbus, GA, there was a girl who got her tongue pierced at a "reputable" piercing place by a "reputable" body piercing artist. Her tongue swelled up to the size of a tangerine and she almost choked to death, and almost died of sepsis.

She's ok now, well, if you call ok not having a tongue.

Just think it through really well before you decide to pierce your tongue....the tongue is located in the nastiest part of a human body, and is prone so many more infections than normal. Be safe.
