The actor Tom Wilkinson passed away today at the age of 75. He was usually what you would call a "character" actor, probably best known for supporting roles as a gangster leader in Batman Begins and for his role in The Full Monty. I thought his best role was as the father of a murdered son in In The Bedroom, which I thought was one of those great movies that somewhat flies under the radar. I strongly recommend it, and in it you can see what a powerful actor he was.

He had tremendous range. Brilliantly played Benjamin Franklin in the HBO series John Adams and was in Michael Clayton, among many other wonderful performances.

I remember him best as the Corrupt Inspector Pendrew in the Hong Kong action video game Sleeping Dogs. RIP great bad guy character actor. Enjoyed your work.

I remember him playing another villain in Chain of Fools alongside Jeff Goldblum. Not a huge part but he carried it well.

Superb actor...did wonderful work in an Australian crime flick called Felony, amongst many other fine films. A sad loss indeed...

He actually did a pretty fine Maine accent in In The Bedroom. That ain't easy, bub. Hell, Anna Kendrick can't do one, and she went to Deering High.
