Here's an unpolished snippet I wrote this week. It's from a short short, about 600 words, but it's prosetry, not a story. It's hard work.
Blood drops across the smooth surface of the mirror bisect my face with Picasso's striking touch. Heat throbbing like a mother's tender love spreads through me and reassures that I have something like a soul. Closing my eyes to deny the empty world around me, I wallow in the gentle amour that only my pounding heart provides. For the space of these few moments, I am in love with my body.
