That's the Little Susitna. Called a river, but it's more like a creek. When the water comes up, it's a Class IV+/ V whitewater run. It's a very bad place to swim.

I've rafted V class in Jackson Hole. Scary stuff. The water there is frigid. The outdoor tempts the same. The day starts off in the 30's. Climbs to the 60-70's by mid day.

The Class V run on the Little Su is no place for a raft. Too tight. I've lost one friend to that stream.
