Beautiful photos, on this thread. Alaska is such a unique place... gloriously beautiful with a supernatural quality to it—you know, like "C'mere... I'm so stunningly beautiful, come closer... If you don't think very well... or like to plan ahead, I might have to kill you..." . The place and it's people intrigue me. That's why I like to check in on this thread fairly often. Thanks y-all.

FYI, down in Seward:

After days of hard rain, area streams are responding by rising; some are starting to flood adjacent roadways and homes.

Once again, Resurrection River is flooding the main runway at the Seward Airport. I watched a beautiful cow moose graze on the uplands nearby, unconcerned about this disaster.

The culverts at the corner of Salmon Creek Road and Nash Road under the AK RR tracks are almost submerged. The large new culvert still has a bit more clearance. Salmon Creek has breached its south bank and is flooding Eadsville.

Dimond Blvd is closed past Levee Road, with water running over the road just before the Seward Transfer Facility.

The bridge over Lowell Creek Road is holding steady for now, but the Lowell Creek waterfall is brown with sediment, thundering into the frothing pool below.
