Is there any point invoting on your favourite poems anymore.
The current #1, has been there over a week now, but, it is not possible to vote on it.

A few weeks ago, I complained on a thread, that 25 of the poems in the top 50, were impossible to vote on, at that time 6 of them were in the top ten.
The two authors concerned, to whom I attach no blame at all, had at one stage turned their voting off, and later, turned it back on again.
I understand that this caused a glitch in lit, Laurel commented so over a week ago.
I have since e-mailed Laurel twice, and still await a reply.

The current #1 has been there for a week, and will probably maintain thet position indefinately, unlass lit act.

It is possible that as many as 40 of the top 100 have no voting facility, this is grossly unfair on new and lesser known poets.
As I aid, I attach no blme to the two poets concerned, their work is there on merit.
Buit lit, please , come on, get your act together..

I thought lit was looking into this, wonder what happened.

How can I say this...

P,

The current number one is

You Knew
by Miyelo Ina ©

and you can vote on it. The number one fluctuates several times a day, and while it's true that RisiaSkye's piece has been in heavy rotation, it has not had a monopoly on the slot...

Oooooh, I better not say anything more or I'll be accused of flaming.

Steamed,

Oh Flame Away Pleasureu...I've had it.

It's gotten to the point where I see your name and I think, "NOW what's his fucking problem?" I'm getting sick and tired of your whiney ass. I'm not in too good a mood anyway, so I come to Lit for a lift, and have see your shit. Well, Pleasureu, life isn't fair. OK? Why don't you just find a site that you think IS fair? We all understand that Laurel and Manu work their asses off to keep this site running. Why don't you? Because your little poems don't hit the little onesy spot? awww poor baby!

Besides, you pissed me off when I sent you feedback some time ago and didn't hear a damn thing from you. Not a thanks, nothing! You're probably one of those that gets a present from someone and never writes a thank you note. Well, you know what I do when someone does that to me? I never give them another present. Now, I know, it's probably not your fault because your Mama didn't teach you any better, but.....you're a big boy now. Take responsibility.

Sheesh!

Firstly,
I hanot sen the new #1today. apologise for that.
Katpurrs, yes I got your feedback, and then lost it, I would have replied had I found it.
remember it was about editing a poem I think.
As for being pissed of with my complaining, sorry love, but tough.
Someone has to complain.
should we just sit back and say nothing?
I think not.
surely the solution is in lits hands, and I would suggest not too difficult.

KatPurrs,

When I have gottern response from stories, it said I couldn't respond to the comments, is it different for poems?

If I was supose to respond, I'm sorry for not doing so.

First of all, if you hadn't looked at the #1 page, what was your basis for complaint? You made a false claim. Your complaint about one poem being stuck at number one was not accurate. You yourself indicated that you have been flaming the hosts of this wonderful, FREE site, and having gotten the most polite response you could possibly expect under the circumstances (i.e. none) you bring your bogus gripe to us, fellow members of this FREELY PROVIDED space. The bug was acknowledged, and will certainly be fixed in due time.

You have no legitimate beef, dog.

Mayi,

One should always respond to feedback, be it for stories or poems. I have no idea why you have been unable to do so unless it was sent anonymously. But even then, I have seen people come to the board and thank the anonymous people (or tell them bite the big one). :)

Kat~

I think is in some way related.

It would be real nice to see one of my poems close to the top of the list and indeed it happened last week. All the way to #5. That was a boost for my ego and I, to be sure.
I am seriously thinking of creating a thread for one of my pieces that did not get any votes and few reads. I think it was the title. (from child to adult)
But, if I start the thread the voting will be turned off as long as there is activity.

Hey, nice audio work there KatPurrs.

I miss WickedEve, don't yall?

Sir,
When I first complained, weeks ago now it is an undisputed fact, that,
^ of the poems in the top ten, and 25 in the top 50, could not be voted on.
and, if referring to me as dog gives you a kick, then you have my synpathy, ttreratment is available I believe.

I will go this very moment and check the top 20 poems, see how many it is not possible to vote on.
It is not possible vote on the following
#2
#5
#6
#7
#14
#21

and my claim is bogus, think agin sir

dog equals dude, yo

Where I come from 'dog'--or, perhaps more accurately, 'dawg'--is not pejorative. It's a neutral term meaning roughly 'man' 'dude' 'kid''bro' etc.

Your claim, sir, which I assert is bogus, is that
the number one slot is being monopolized by a poem that cannot be voted on, and that no other poem can be in that slot. This, we have established, was a false claim.

Your complaint, that some poems with voting turned off are on the toplist, is not in dispute. What I am responding to, and annoyed by, is your rudeness and lack of couth in assuming that nothing is being done about the situation, and implying that the hosts of this site somehow OWE you something.

It is tiring to 'listen' to you whine about this!
Please get over it ASAP.

Sincerely,
DP

I miss WickedEve, don't yall?
I certainly do. She emailed me that she's still checking out the board from time to time. She misses the friends she made here, and all the activity on the board. The only thing she is not missing is pleasureu's posts. And I must agree with her.
pleasureu, this is nice community here, and I know everyone is glad when new people join. And I'm sure you will make a fine addition... once you stop with all the negativity.
Just work on your poetry. Contribute something useful to the community. Make friends. Relax. Things have a way of working out.

OK, I'm feeling guilty about being a megabitch...

Pleasureu,

We're a forgiving bunch here. We all vent. I hope you'll forgive me for blowing my stack at you. You were just getting on my frazzled nerves and since I'm just not myself lately, you became the brunt of my frustrations. Now be nice, be patient, and be positive in your thoughts!

MP and smithpeter~~~~~~Yes, I miss WE something awful!

(wish we had a crying smiley...now there's a contradiction in terms if I've ever heard one!)

True, MP. I shall cease and desist. But before I leave, let me tend to sp. He's crying so hard the tears are dripping off his chin! :D

thank you kp,
there is poetry in the night
and sadness expressed in emoticons
and upon some soiled sheets
but not mine
which are virtual
like newsprint fading
more real than cyber text
but diminishing

Dear sweet lady,
i have just relocated your feedback, and now know why I didnt reply.
It was sent anon. i.e. no return email
It referred to the same poem with two different titles.
I am legally blind my dear, and made a typo on the first title, could not change it, so I re submitted the poem.
than you for the feedback
P

misunderstandings

Dear pleasureu,

You're welcome. Whenever I send anonymous feedback which is not often, I always sign it as
KatPurrs@literotica.org. Is that not at the bottom? And if not, I apologize. But even the content of my feedback indicated who I was, I thought. Ah, no matter. You wrote, I voted and gave feedback and you've expressed your appreciation. Case closed. At least that one is.

Now about the Lit site and it's voting....never mind. You'll come around, I'm sure.

When you need to edit, just put the word "EDITED VERSION" after the title. I just did it for the first time last week and it worked well. Good luck!
