"American Civil War, also called War Between the States, four-year war (1861–65) between the United States and 11 Southern states that seceded from the Union and formed the Confederate States of America."

Covid has killed more folks in less time and without any visible battlefields.

3 Children Dead, 120 Hospitalized — Pfizer Vaccine Batch Suspended

Thanh Hoa has suspended the use of a Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine batch after over 120 students were hospitalized following their inoculation.

Since November 30, the central province has been vaccinating children aged 15-17 with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. However, over 120 of the children were admitted to hospitals after exhibiting symptoms like nausea, high fever or breathing difficulties, the provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC) said Thursday.

Someone is triggered.

For every one voting Democrat that dies....9 voting Republicans are. The data is freely available to anyone with a brain. Let Darwinism work.

Just nine of the more than 46 million people vaccinated against Covid-19 in the first eight months of the jabs rollout died directly as a result, according to number crunching by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

In a newly published blog post, ONS head of mortality analysis Sarah Caul explained how she used two sources to determine the total tally of deaths between December 2020 and August 2021 in which the vaccine was a contributing factor.

The current death toll attributed to Covid is 792K in the US. Mostly elderly and largely infirm people. The adult population in the US is 258 million. Do you really think deaths will change any of the elections next year, and if so, which one(s)?

I'd point out two things:

First, it's a virus, so all the "war" comparisons and analogies and off-base. A fire analogy is more appropriate or any other natural disaster.

Second, the data doesn't actually show more Republicans are dying then Democrats. What is shows is a correlation between non-urban dwellers (who tend to vote Republican) and urban dwellers (who tend to vote Democrat) at the current time in the pandemic and though the rural/ex-urban areas have higher death rates per capita, in terms of raw counts and overall death rates the virus is a great leveler and doesn't give a crap about a person's political alignment or inclinations.

It's the classic statistical error of trying to count correlation as causation and reviewing a slice of a time series set of data and asserting that it explains the entire time series.

I believe the study was based on Biden vs Trump voters. And it was that they were more likely to die from Covid-19.

Good post. This is a silly thread.

It's a totally mild disease too... historically speaking it's been a pretty low key ordeal.

It isn't, though that is what is implied (and they don't actually make the connection within the article or the underlying study). From the above referenced article:

"People in counties that voted for Donald Trump."

So, the study doesn't actually tell the reader "who is dying", it tells the reader "where the death rates are higher" by correlation to voting patterns. It implies that "Republicans are dying at higher rates than Democrats" - but it's not actually measuring that variable (political affiliation per death). It also fails to adequately control for other relevant variables - age, gender, economic status, health care accessibility, etc.

Additionally, they start the survey data at May 1, 2021 (an arbitrarily selected date) and skip the entirety of the data set (which would skew the numbers back to minor variations within one standard deviation (or "normal" variation).

Here's a link to the actual NPR report (section on methodology at the bottom).

You are misreading the study.

This is deaths from Covid in counties that voted for Trump or Biden

People dying from Covid have died at 3 times higher rates in counties that voted for Trump.

You are basically saying that people misread the study....that's possibly correct ...but what the study says isnt rocket science.

Another tidbit adding to the conversation is that those same counties have a lower rate of vaccinated according to the study.

I.e. trump voters aren't getting vaccinated from Covid as much and so those voters are dying at a higher rate from Covid than their Biden voter counterparts.

It's sad that this has become politicized.

Trump voters are dropping like flies!!!! Oh Noes!! or, Yay!!!

Because the virus is absolutely looking at voting records

The antivaxxers certainly seem to be

Eric Trump even gave a speech at one.

The day before a speaker gave her assessment of microchips out in the vaccines

It's an interesting contrast when people are shedding crocodile tears because city people may have to travel 10 minutes to vote, or get an id.

But the spittle runs down their cheeks with anger when rural people aren't getting vaccinated because they may have to go an hour or two to get vaccinated.

It's all about which ox is getting gored.

I've never heard an Eric Trump speech.

If he bothers you, don't go to his speeches

Yah, I think youre missing my point.

It's being made political by antivaxxers and the right.

To the rest of us, it's just a vaccine that works.

Yeah, that ^ addresses the reapomse to your other post.

Mandates likely wouldn't be necessary, nor would strong advocacy for vaccinations, if anti-vaxx propagandists weren't flooding the zone with dangerous disinformation.

SAD!!!

*Shrug* As long as Trumpers are, in fact, self-appointing to die in far greater numbers than sane people are, let them pretend.

But not so many as a percentage of the population.
