You know who you are and so do I. Go ahead and keep hitting my story with your 1s and 2s. I'll keep having them removed.

But if if you can't at least have the guts to admit it's just competitive cheating, I want nothing to do with you.

I won't stoop to your level. But I won't let your votes stay.

Sweet cantdog -

I love all your AV's. I think my favorite is the one where you are kneeling with your stethoscope and smiling - probably with kids all around even though they aren't in that shot.

BUT - I like this one, too. Mischievous grin, hair wildly ruffled by the breeze, and your red tie flying about. It looks incredibly clown-like.

(And don't get me started, but do you remember that clown thread we had awhile back???)

:D

Dranoel -

I'm sorry to hear this is happening - it stinks when people feel they have to cheat.

Eddie! (would that be BI-curious?:D

Don't hijack the thread! (Erm, even though I was doing that myself.)

No, I haven't kicked his butt because Sensei didn't match us up last night. But he did pair me with another student who is of similar build to the sumbitch.

It is difficult to spar with a much taller opponent. You have to be very patient (a skill I tend to lack). Patient in waiting for the blows to almost land before you block, waiting on the kicks so you can get in close on the recoils, not being afraid to press against a big sweaty body to unload a few punches - (well that may not be too bad - LOL). In order to win you have to force them to fight your fight.

But, it does make me wonder if Sensei is very aware of the situation and is giving me some - um - practice on a taller partner?

I have deep respect for my Sensei. :rose:

You are too kind. I think.

:D

I decided as a senior in high school at the age of sixteen that dignity was optional. I don't let it get in my way now. Many times I will more or less put on a clown suit-- clothes I know will subtract any dignity from my appearance and amuse my companions. And me. Nothing really overt, usually, but it all adds up. I think that the very quality you notice in my appearance is the reason this photo was taken.

The people surrounding me in Las Cejas batey when I am wielding the stethoscope have lined up, loosely speaking, for a medical clinic in their church/school building. I am taking blood pressures and pulses. I cropped out two women and some others in the background, but none of the people I took BP's of were children.

I was a mere ambulance attendant, and thus mostly used as crowd control and translator, when I got to go out of town with the medical team. But I have enough training to take a reliable BP.

It's a mission trip run by the same church Martin Luther King was affiliated with, American Baptist Churches. I'm an atheist, as I've made crystal-clear here (and indeed there, too). But I was privileged to be able to go along and make myself useful.

I was going to comment earlier that his AV reminds me of a photo I saw once of Mark Twain. :D

Bring it on, big boy. :D

Mister Clemens. He was not the most honest of men, but now I really am flattered. To be taken for Twain is a peak few can aspire to.

I have, uh, lent out, I believe the phrase is, nine copies of Letters From the Earth, which I admire, in parts, very greatly indeed. I would lend it out nine times again, if I thought someone would read it.

:rose: The comparison was meant to be flattering; I'm glad it was received as such.

Gracious offer cant, but no thank you.

I'm still working on this whole God thing - if I read Letters again it'll screw everything up!

Then I withdraw the offer, dear lady. I know some of what you are enduring. It would be one thing if he were being flip, but he is, I think, in some of Letters, quite deadly serious. Not what you need at all. I would like to see you resolve this conflict and live a long life with a whole heart. You were meant, as we all were, for love.

I agree that he was being very serious, and he managed to shred the Bible easily with his intellectual wit.

And with your kind words, you sweet gentleman, you've made me feel warm all over. (My cheeks are flushed.)

Thank you. :rose:
