OK... all you S&M fans, get your heads into the right gear, I'm here to know if I should submit a chapter I wrote or not...

My Novel/Novella TOMS ADVENTURES has taken off. I couldn't be happier with the feedback I've been getting.

However, I have run into writer's block with the current story and wrote several other chapters. I have currently submitted up to Chapter 5a and have hit writer's block on chapter 5b (rewriting due to editor's comments). I have already written chapters 6 and 7.

Should I... (select all that apply)

A) go ahead and submit chapter 6 and 7 before my loyal readers forget that the stories
B)should I wait until I'm happy with my editing of Chapter 5b (so they don't forget that storyline?)
C) Forget about chapter 5b and just move on to chapters 6 and 7 and so forth?
D) Take the panties i stole from the complex washing room off my head
E) Submit Chapter 5b in its (in my opinion) unedited state
F) stop reading erotic stories to get myself off
G) give up my lousy excuse of writing
H) Throw my computer out the window and live in the 1970s
I) stop listening to David Hasslehoff's music CDs
J) stop listening to Yanni CDs
K) Go for a drive in the country
L) plagiarize my favorite story from Literotica
M) stop asking such stupid questions

-Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?
-If a person with mulitple personalities threatens suicide, is it handled like a hostage situation?

*pats shoulder in sympathy*

Writer's block sucks. I would recommend trying to get through it, maybe wait a while and don't stress yourself out too much. if I was a reader, I probably would be confused if chapters were submitted out of order. Maybe some people in the forum can help.

I really wouldn't worry about them forgetting the storyline. If I like a story, I love going back and reading it all again. You can also always send out an email and remind everyone once your new chapter does go online.

take a deep breath

If you're not sure to send in a chapter or not- don't. I made that mistake and it threw me off for a while. You'll know when that chapter is ready. Writer's block- tough one. Go for that drive in the country and relax, don't force the words. You may want to try a trick I do to myself. Change the time anlocation of where you write. I use a laptop and will go to a coffee shop sometimes. Change is good! Good luck- you'll get there with your story intact.

D sound the best but seriously

Take a blank piece of paper, put a few words describing where your chapeter 5b started and a kew key points to where you ran into the block.

Then just above the bottom of the page write a few key points as to where chapter 6 starts.

Then join the dots, this leads to that; and for that, to be next, then I need to make this, join to another that.

Story lines are just threads, complex plots often have ten or so, three or four is more normal. More than twenty and your reader will loose the plot!

You can close off plot threads and re-open them later
You can introduce a new thread.
These last options can make the story disjointed so take care when using them.
I will read your story and may add more. Keep Working!

None of the above get your nose to the grindstone.

There is a gap of three weeks you shoud to fill. Try joining the dots as to what has happened to your characters and you should un-block Go For it
