Its 10am in Brisbane and Hussain has just won the toss for England, sending us into bat.

Day one of the first test for the ashes.

Any bets on how many days this will go for? 2? 3? surely not 5 :p

Over confident :D

Credit where credit's due......only one wicket down with 87 on the board.....better than anyone could have hoped for

115 and going strong...now that has to be good by aussie standards :D

I have actually spent the morning trying to explain the basics of the game to an American.

*chuckle* she is confused already and i have not even gone into scoring yet :)

On that note I'm gonna go take a nap. I think I've got that part down.

I played for our cricket team at school and I still don't know how the game is scored so a yank has no fucking chance, but feel free to post the scoring method anyway.

Then stand back and watch em try and work it out :D

Cricket :

There are two teams the captains of both teams toss a coin to see who is in and who is out.

Strangly the team that is in stay out and the team that is out gos in. The team that is in send to plays out they stay in until they are out. The team that is out spends all its time trying to get the team that is in, out, When all the ins are out the outs go in but sending players out they stay out until they are out.

Pretty fucking simple!

Mike
sorry cyber hope this clears up thing for you

*chuckle* Mike, I was confused by the team that is in can be made to stay in by the team that is out.

Unfortunatly I think I got it now.

Mike, i had fun trying to explain just how the batting works,.... unfortunately i touched on the "follow on" and that did not help at all
