So... thoughts?
Good?
Bad?
How does it compare to others in the series?
What do you think of the Captian?

I thought it was great, though I didn't get the ending at all...

Keep watching

So far it has a very good story line while staying with the original show(s). I am interested to see how they develop it.

so far it is GREAT!!!

gleam:
"Never, you have a PM..."

gleam, no offence, but I prefer to keep the number of my PMs down.

I don't like Bakula, but otherwise I thought it was very good.

I hope they can keep it up, it would be great to have a good Star Trek series to watch again.

Sorry, just trying to avoid giving the plot away...

To, boldly, go

I read the title and thought this was another of nasty's scatological threads.

Some random thoughts.
I did enjoy the first show, however, I found the inclusion of a 'temporal cold war' added needlessly to the plot. The Sabasions [sp?] could have been interesting in inciting a civil war in the Klingon Empire for several reasons. I can understand that the writers are interested in creating a master plot (as in B5) that extends throughout the show but the premier didn't come together as a complete story in my eyes.

Was the scene in the decontamination room needed? The two characters had no 'chemistry' and having them smear gel on one another's bodies seemed so heavy handed.

I like Captain Archer, I like the actor that's playing him. In fact, I find the acting in this first episode much better than the first episodes of ST:TNG, or ST:V. The character's seem much blander though, in most series you got the basic 'feel' of the character by the end of the first episode. What do we know about the characters here? There's T'Pol. She acts like a Vulcan. There's Captain Archer, he's the typical 'take charge' captain, Tucker seems the good ole boy .. I can't remember the name of the Comm. Officer but she seems wimpy.. then there's Polax the doctor, off all of them he seems to have the most 'character'.

Indeed, I haven't wanted to slap a Trek lady since Troi on the ST:TNG premier. I remember her screaming like a banchee because of 'angry vibrations'.

Oops...

Ignore my last post. I guess the lack of water in that scene didn't register as a "shower" with my brain.

Well - I thought it was pretty good - not great, but off to a good start.

I did have some minor problems with Bakula - mainly just couldn't help going.. "but... but.. that's Scott Bakula"

I remember when New Generation first came on the air. I had been a die hard fan of the original series. My friend and I watched the premiere episode and I hated it. At this point I don't know if that's because the first episode sucked or my expectations were entirely different and I just wasn't open to it. So for years I never watched it. But then started seeing it in repeats and really enjoyed it!

Deep Space 9 - I thought it was incredibly boring, still do.

Voyager - my favorite of them all, even better then the original series. I loved it.

So - for me, I still pretty much reserve judgement. It wasn't as good as I hoped, it wasn't as bad as I feared. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops.

The absolute WORST thing about Enterprise? The theme song? Who wrote/sang that piece of garbage and since when does a Star Trek series have a fucking lame ass wimpy pseudo-pop song as its theme? Where was the wonderfully orchestrated and majestic score that a Star Trek show deserves?

And... on the WOW side... Jolene Blalock as T'Pol. YOWZA! Theres a wonderful pictorial of her in this month's Maxim - and it seems she's quite the wild child. (Anyone interested can see the whole photo spread at http://www.maximonline.com )

Well Damn - how many Enterprise thread are there? At least the Survivor fans managed to have one thread for the show - in fact we managed to revive the same thread every week of the show! *smile*

Maybe we can have an official Enterprise thread.. DCL can start it since he's probably had sex with Jolene.

Perhaps it's my age but when I look at Bakula I don't think 'Quantum Leap' or 'Scott Bakula'. I just see some guy.

I agree with you on many points.. the early episodes of Generation were quite disappointing. I've seen repeats of the them and the dialogue is stilted, the actors tend to pose in a very stiff manner. Voyager, was one of my favorites as well despite it's problems.

However, I liked the 'pop song' intro, I think it reflects the more humanistic attitude the series is trying to capture.
