To all you Americans who don't own a home

I thought you were being sarcastic, Tongue, but I wasn't 100% sure till now.

As usual, Ishmael is not only a moron, but a vicious, mean-spirited moron.
Adjusted for people who do not desire a home (see: GeorgeWBush), there are plenty of Litsters here that Ishtard, Miles and Phrodeau have broadbrushed as financially stupid by their insinuations: namely, people who want to own a home, but cannot.

Ishtard once said he never throws fits. Right after that he started embarking on rampant name calling. I've pulled him down from his moral high horse by calling him out on his bullshit, repeatedly, relentlessly, and without fear of retaliation from his Libertarian sycophants.

They continue to try to mold reality to fit their theories, and their failure to do so is why they're so pissed.

LT, I don't know whether it's occured to you or not (What the hell am I saying? Of course it hasn't occured to him.) but you're the only one throwing a 'temper tantrum' around here.

Carry on, it's fun to watch.

Do you realize how easy it is to own a home?

Lemme tell you how easy.

You just need
1.) A Job.
2.) Decent credit. Not great, but decent.
3.) 10% down payment. (In some cases even less is required.)
4.) The monthly payment cannot be in excess of 30% of the buyer(s) gross monthly income.

It boggles the mind why there are any adults in America who do not own a home.

What's up with that?
Well, one out of 4 ain't bad, I suppose.
Here, the average house in an average (not good) neighborhood is OVER $500,000!!! Had a condo, but gave it to the EX so my kids would have a place to live.
So, $50,000 down, + $20,000 in fees, + $5-10,000/yr in taxes, + $3,000 in mortgae ins, + home ins, + $3,000/mo payments...
Sure, I'll buy 2 tomorrow!
Maybe it works in Podunk, USA, but not here.
Don't know why you felt you needed to call some good, but unfortunate people morons!

And as far as Honey is concerend......buying a house in Cali is like being anally reamed with no lube!!!

A friggin' dump is like 100k. Geez, in Houston you can buy a custom 4 br for 150K!!!

Wouldn't live in Cali for love or money!!

I feel fo ya hun' :(
How much are duplexes and triplexes out there? I may be in the market for a house in a year because of an inheritance. I'd be interested in a Triplex that I could rent two units out. Of course, I am not sure what the average rent for a plex is wherever you are in Texas, but I know having 2 renters could pay a triplex down quick. Even if I set $50-$100 a month aside for future maintenance issues.

(Yes, I know more about real estate than I'm willing to talk about.)

I'd want to be near a good hospital, and even better shopping (groceries, electronics, ANIME!!) (just kidding about the anime part). I don't like living out in the fraggin' sticks. Worse than the rattlers is the long drive that law enforcement has to reach you if the two legged snakes get on your property.

BTW in California we have that miracle called Prop 13. I'm sure ya know what that's all about?

Nope, you're WAY behind

Can't even get a DUMP for $100,000!
That Condo I mentioned, in Santa Ana is worth over $300,000 now. And Santa Ana is the worst place in the county to live!
Lots of people here spend $100,000 for their SUVs!

Except when I cut and paste your own words into a satire, and people come in here saying God Damn that's stupid! only to realize that what they're dissing is something you said.. word for word verbatim.

Ish and Phrod will use cut and paste to back a position... you use it as your whole discussion point and rebuttal.

When I moved from Orange County (Beach country) back east, the house I bought in the east was twice as large and cost half as much. The people here cry "it's so expensive to purchase a home here"....I just laugh.

So you cut and pasted out of context posts from 2 or more people to try and make them look bad?

Wouldn't it just be easier to actually respond to what they say?

Just a thought.

LT, you'll have a stable job in the next few years and then you'll find how really easy it is to purchase a home. It's good investment too.

Ishtard do you really think that such desperate assertions are effective in saving face for you in light of the stupid and absurd remark that you made, which I cut and pasted to make this thread?

Is this your way of covering up the pain and suffering raging inside you as people come in and criticize those opening remarks, and you know full well they're your own remarks, cut and pasted word for word verbatim?

C'mon, man, you know full well people have dissed your remarks as absurd. Why not address that? Oh yes, it's easier for you to attack the messenger instead.

Except this time the messenger is you. Or, your own words used against you, without alteration. :D

The thing is, if you go to Frimost's "Tadpoling" thread, you'll see LT whining about people holding grudges for taking the piss out of Frimost (I guess he sees his own experiences in all the grief we give Frimost - which makes sense!). Yet, he goes through all the trouble of copy/pasting someone else's words for the sake of starting a thread due to - gasp! - a grudge he has against them.

Sure, we all hold grudges against people we think are idiots around here; but some people really ought to be careful about acting high and mighty when it happens, especially because they're just pissed that it's happening to THEM.

I knew Running Tongue was black, but I didn't know he resembled the kettle.

Yup, that's the reason he started the thread. The only problem with that MWG is that he ended up getting his own thread shoved up his ass, as usual.

But he'll claim victory. He always does.

I have a stable job right now.

But if I took my spotless credit and tried to put down $10,000 on a $100,000 home, given my income, I'd get laughed right out of the bank all the way back home.

I mean, that's aside from the fact that
a) land in California is way more expensive than $100K
b) if I lose my job because of the piss poor management going on here, I'd fall behind on the mortgage real fast. <-- in this economy this is true for way too many people
c) in other areas of the country, where land is cheaper, the income of people in those areas are much lower, too.

Perhaps it would be wise for Californians, with their higher incomes, to move to cheaper areas. Thereby driving up the price of that land and making it more expensive for everyone there.

Oh and outside California they don't have Prop 13.

There are more gaping holes in Phrodeau, Ishmael and Miles' argument. But hey, what can I say? People have come in and sneered at that opening remark, and it was Ishmael and Miles' own words, not mine.

How so, Ishtard? Your own words got shoved up your own ass this time.

You're a moron, you know that right?
