[Beginner Guy]

I noticed a thread on here and rather than respond to it, I've chosen to start my own.

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who dislikes the home improvement shows on TLC as much as I do? Is it a female thing to enjoy these shows, or are there men out there who like them as well? The vast majority of the rooms end up looking just awful afterwards. Maybe I'm just venting as I find myself subjected to these show far too often, but I just can't get into "While you were out.......we fucked up your living room"

Nah I can't get into that stuff either. Most of the things those type of shows do are so weird.. my tastes are so different and I don't think that you should do fad type things when home decorating.

I appreciate the support. Whatever happened to just decorating your home nice. And why does everyone's bedroom need a canopy that makes it look like the circus?

I love seeing the horrified faces of the people as the open their eyes and see the revolting new look.

"What do I do? Cry? Scream? Smile and pretend it's just what I wanted?" They're on T.V., guess which they do, almost always.

Actually, as Beginner Guy's girlfriend....I must admit I do subject him to the show every once in awhile, when he's at my place. And with only one t.v. in the house, he doesn't always get to decide what to watch (especially with four girls living in the house, lol).

I do find Trading Spaces entertaining to watch though......of course half the rooms do look horrible afterwards, but not all of them do, and its all part of the fun in watching.

I'm just as willing to sit down and watch football with him though (I'm actually starting to like it), so I think we're pretty even.

she's got a good point there, she's pretty understanding that way. Though the football games rarely end up as horrible as a checkerboard wall with just one red square.

Of all the rooms ever done on the show, I have to agree that was one of the not so good ones. Genevieve is usually a bit out there with her designs, but that was just too weird.
