Titans: The Revised Adventures RP

Roy

Obviously she was enjoying this, and somewhere she had picked up the skill to wrap properly. Slowly she wrapped the gauze around his injured ribs only making him jump once. "Sorry" she said and let the gauze drop to start again.

"So what do you do for the titans other than be an excellent nurse." Roy started to speak as she wound his chest and ribs again. "I'm sort of wondering what your talents are. What you do? For the team. Someone got my arrows back to me. Was that you?" Rou rotated his arm. Feeling better nnow that his ribs were wrapped. It hurt of course, but it was better than the alternative.

Roy turned smiling deeply and looking into her eyes. "So what do you do?"

Gar/Beast Boy

He should've expected the ambush. How paparazzi always found out what he was doing and managed to show up was a mystery Gar hadn't quite managed to get a handle on. And why they never seemed to be around to take pictures of and record the good things that he and other celebrities did was an even bigger one.

But there they were. Camped out all about the entrance to the ER and snapping picture after picture of the ambulances coming in, of the victims of the HIVE assault, and, especially, pictures of the only known hero to have been brought in.

The guys in the ambulance had assured him he was okay when he woke up. "What the...," Gar had started to protest and tried to sit up, but was stopped short by the straps and a gentle hand on his chest.

"Easy there," the EMT said. "You seem to be doing much better just in the time since we left the Tower."

"How did...?" Gar was feeling disoriented and a little bit more fatigued than he last remembered.

"You were burned and went into shock," the man--his name tag said Carpenter--told him. "After the adrenaline from the fight stopped flowing, you apparently collapsed so the crisis team on site thought it best to send you in. Just lie back and we'll be inside before you know it."

Gar sighed. "Whatever you say."

***********

A short time later, feeling much better, Gar sat in a curtained off section of the ER filling out paperwork. This was a lot easier before I became emancipated. He finished up and signed the bottom of the forms, then stepped out of the space to look for the hospital staffer he was supposed to give them to.

A pair of physicians nearby were conferring privately without realizing Gar was close enough to hear them. Their whispered voices came to his heightened hearing clearly, and he could pick out the concern in them as well.

"Are these vitals correct?"

"I'm afraid so. He's in X-Ray now, we'll have those up momentarily."

"Good. Maybe it's not as bad as we think."

The second man shook his head. "I think it's a lot worse internally than what we're seeing outside and what a hands-on exam is telling us. We need to get hold of his father."

"The number's unlisted. We've got calls into STAR Labs and a uniformed unit heading over there as well."

"We'll do what we can, emergencies override parental consent, but what we can do isn't going to be much with these kinds of injuries."

"I know, I know."

"Such a shame, too. Vic Stone was probably a shoo-in for a college scholarship and a damn fine professional career too."

Gar's eyes widened and he turned his head to look at the doctors. Vic? What happened to Vic? He started to demand an answer to his thought, but shook his head. He was just a friend; the doctors weren't going to tell him anything. He walked slowly over to the reception desk.

"These are done, can I go?"

The woman looked over the paper work and nodded. "Do you need to call someone?" she asked, but Gar was already headed out, cheetah paws padding along the linoleum of the hospital hallway.

Ashton awoke some time later, but still felt exhausted. He had been through a lot. They all had, but they had weathered their first attack. He slowly got to his feet, swaying a little, then started to ditch the armor. As he did so, he slowly headed towards the personal rooms area of the tower, which housed their bedrooms.

Slowly, Titan Tower was restored to it’s former beauty prior to the Hive battle. Robin was up until well past midnight, as were some of the others. Finally, exhausted, Robin walked up to his room on the fourth floor, after telling Roy he could make up one of the empty rooms for him tomorrow and kissing Starfire and telling her he was heading to bed, and she could join him if she wanted. He stripped down to his boxers and fell back onto his bed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Malchior sat in the infirmary, watching over Ghost to be there when he awakened. Together, they would make the Titans pay. Mal’s lips curled into an evil smirk as he pictured their blood spilling onto the ground and their screams of horror and agony filling the air. Slade has similar thoughts as he sat in his office, thinking over what Malchior had told him.
“She is the spawn of Trigon...” he said to himself quietly. “To control her is to control him... Hehehehe...”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“No!” screamed Silas Stone as he looked over his son in the Intensive Care Unit of Vector Memorial Hospital. “Not my boy...”

Vic Stone was barely alive, his body broken and his bones shattered. His skin was charred and his limbs gone -- they had been forced to amputate his forearms and legs due to irreversible tissue damage and high risk of infection. His internal organs were failing and the only thing keeping him alive was life support. Half of his face seemed to only be slightly scarred, but the other half was completely mauled, and his left eye had been destroyed.

“My son.... Noo....” Silas balled his fists, biting back tears.

“I’m sorry, Dr. Stone... Even with life support, his organs will not hold up for long...” said the doctor sadly.

“Leave us,” Silas said quietly. “Please.”

The doctor nodded and left, and right after, Silas pulled out a little gun of some sort. He pointed it at Vic, and from it came a green light as he pulled the trigger. Suddenly, Vic was teleported to STAR Labs. Turning the gun to himself, Silas teleported as well. When the doctor returned, he saw them missing and altered security.

“I will fix you son, I promise.” swore Silas as he gathered all of his robotics prototypes and designs together. “I will make you better than before. You will walk again, my son, you will walk again...”

The following morning, Vic finally woke up. His father smiled to him, then handed him a mirror. “Just like new, my son.”

Vic looked himself up and down, then screamed out. “NO! I’m... I’m not human anymore! What have you done to me!”

“I’ve repaired you son. I gave you legs to walk and arms to touch and new organs to live.”

“I’d rather die than live as an artificial human! I don’t want to live my life as some mechanical freak!”

“Son, I saved you, show some gratitude.”

“Fuck you!” Vic jumped to his feet, and pushed his father aside, amazed at his new strength and how easily he could move. Running to the elevator and then out of the building faster than he could ever run before, he made his way towards Titan Tower -- He had to talk to Reikka.

"Gar?" Raven wandered the Tower, looking for the green guy and finding Starfire instead. "Where's Beast Boy?." She asked quickly, frowning.

"They took him to the hospital with the others," Star replied softly, biting her lip. "He was injured... They said that he was in... amazement?"

"Shock?" Raven raised an eyebrow. "Is he alright?" Star only shrugged, making Raven's frown grow. "I'll be back later." With that, she left... Heading for the hospital in the night sky.

------------------------

Star checked on the rest of the group that remained in the tower, finding the most of them either already asleep from the exhaustion of the day or still tending to some sore body parts and wounds.
She headed to Robin's room, silently slipping through the doors and curled up beside him on the bed, her arm gently resting on his chest as she kissed his cheek. "You are alright?," She asked softly, nuzzling against him.

Reikka sighed having been sitting in her room given to her with Robin's permission. It had been all night that she sat in the same spot in the corner of the room unmoving. She didn't feel much like going home and wasn't sure what else to do. No word from Vic outside of his emergency rush to the hospital. She knew it was bad and had tried to make a mental connection with him for hours now but still nothing.

She finally gave up content to believe the worst. He hadn't made it... But then she tried one more time and found he was in a panic. His thoughts were filled with panic and it seemed he was calling out to her. "Vic?" she breathed softly and jumped up snagging her coat and taking off at a run out of the tower.

She didn't know where he was but knew he was heading this way. The least she could do was wait for him...

Gar/Beast Boy

Gar ran.

He wasn't sure exactly where he was running to or what he might have been running from, he just ran.

Manohmanohman...not again....

He was unconcerned with who was around him. He shifted on the fly...cheetah to greyhound to assorted species of antelope...and then into swiftly flying bird forms as he finally hit a street with too much traffic to cross on foot.

Raven caught sight of a bright green bird of prey as she came closer to the hospital.

"GAR!"

Raven took off into the sky, chasing after the green bird. "Beast Boy, please, I-" She tapped into his mind, only catching the chanting he was giving... then Vic's name...
"Oh no." She stopped following him, hanging back to look towards the hospital.
She couldn't find him in there...
Taking after him again, she shook her head with a frown. "Gar, please..."

The emerald eagle spiraled up, and then leveled out to begin flying all out across the skies above Vector City. It turned its head slightly as if hearing something, but just kept right on going. But then something touched its mind, and it slowed then banked and became a bright green hummingbird, hovering in mid-air.

Gar looked back the way he had come, then along the horizontal planes away from the hospital and up into the sky. I know that 'voice'. Where is she? There. The hummingbird zipped down to a black-cloaked figure and dropped onto the woman's shoulder as a tiny marmoset.

He clung to her clothing and nuzzled the side of her neck. Raven could feel the dampness from his little furry cheek. She could sense the hesitation as he tried to come up with the words. Gar just grasped a little tighter.

Take me home, Rae...before I jinx anyone else's life.

"Don't think that way, Gar," Raven said softly, holding him against her chest as she let her cape fold over him. "This wasn't your fault. Any of our faults. Ghost and his group- They'll pay for all they've done. I promise."
She opened her cape enough to look at him, then gave him another gentle hug. "I'll take you home..."
She headed back to the tower, holding him to her. His emotions were a hard jumble, one that made a mess on her as well. She paused as they neared the tower, feeling some additional emotions growing ot the mix...
Anger, confusion, fear... Those weren't Gar. She recognized the source... but wasn't he-
She glanced down, giving a soft gasp. "Gar? You- You might want to see this..."

Reikka had been running for what seemed like forever. Where had he gone? Why was he not in the hospital? She shook her head breaking down in fresh new questions and equally confussed concern as she bounded down the streets her mind locked with Vic in a paniced state to find him.

She could see what he saw, feel what he felt, almost taste him.. not so long ago they were making out on the couch and then suddenly the Hive had attacked. With a heavy sigh she stopped in mid-run looking up and down the street not but a block from the Tower and well in sight of anyone who would come up the road.

====

Miles away a lone figure sat idly on a stray rooftop, looking out over Vector City with a decidely annoyed and digusted glare. "So boring..." the feminine voice spoke, a yawn escaping her lips as she sat idle looking at the mornign bustl of the city.

She sat up abruptly looking at the concrete of which she sat. She easily pulled a slab of the concrete out from under her using it to fly off into the city to see what she could get herself into. The naked patrons inside the building looking up in surprise at the open sky through their new sky light.

Gar let Raven slide him from her shoulder. He nestled himself against her warm chest, feeling the comforting softness of her breasts as she held him close. His mind was all jumbled up with memories of his parents dying...of Jillian...of the day he heard of what had happened to Rita, Cliff, and the other Doom Patrol members. Everyone Gar found himself considering friends or family had had something terrible happen to them.

He was slowly becoming more at ease as Raven flew them home. She was having to hold him more as he had become a small kitten. His normal reaction to being so close to a girl he found not only attractive, but who also intrigued him on other levels, was submerged by the need to just be held and reassured.

Gar had begun purring against Raven's chest when he realized she was trying to get his attention to something on the ground. He became a garter snake and slithered between very top of her cleavage to encircle her neck. Gar laid a serpentine head against her ear and whispered, "What is it? What am I looking for?"

Vulcan had been designed to withstand a lot of force, but not the force of a blow from someone as strong as Grundy. He tried to turn his body to take the brunt of the impact with his powerful arm and leg actuators, but there wasn't enough time and he hit the wall shoulder first, his head smacking into it shortly afterwards.

His visual display distorted and then blinked out totally... followed by a total shutdown of all systems. He was out for the count.

As the battle raged, the tough alloy that Vulcan was constructed from easily took any spill off from those whose attacks had area effects.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The world came into blurry focus as Vulcan's visual sensors recalibrated. The HUD icons flickered into life at the edges of his visual display. System reports started to move across the top of his visual display.

>>>SEVERE IMPACT CAUSED POWER LOSS... RUNNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS... NO SEVERE DAMAGE DETECTED... REPAIRING... REAR HEAT SINK... REPAIRED... INTERNAL COMPENSATORS... REPAIRED... SERVO 47... REPAIRED... SERVO 94...REPAIRED... ALL SYSTEMS AT 100% FUNCTIONALITY... SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC COMPLETE... NORMAL OPERATION RESUMED>>>

He stood, looking at the room around him. Though some minor damage remained, it was very hard to believe that this had been the site of a major fight between the Titans and HIVE... whoever they were. He was no longer against the wall where he had fallen, instead he was in some sort of lobby area. The room was just inside the entrance to the tower, it seemed, with heavily secured doors barring further entrance into the tower. Presumably the Titans had managed to move Vulcan down here at some point after the battle.

The clock in the corner of his visual display read '5:07am'. Vulcan walked over to the intercom and buzzed it, figuring that at least one of the Titans would still probably be awake... if only from the pain.

"I'm feeling other emotions from someone. And its not you. I felt this person before, when Reikka-" Raven paused, settling atop the Tower as the sun started to rise. She realized she hadn't slept at all... The whole mess of a night passed like a blur. "I felt Vic down there, Gar. He's... alive... I don't know how, but that was definitely him."

She glanced to the little green snake that slid up her shoulder and neck. "He's very confused right now, and quite upset. His thoughts were on Reikka... I'm sure she'll be bringing him back to the tower. That was a long night, Gar. Let's get you inside.. You look like something a cat dragged out from a gutter." She gave a soft frown. "I doubt I'm doing any better."

Gar gave a light hiss, and Raven could hear the laughter in the noise. "Yeah, I'm prolly a sight, even as an animal," Gar said in her ear. "But, you know," he added as his forked tongue flicked over the surface of her skin as he talked, "you seem fine. Cool and calm...and you smell nice."

Terra

Floating on a large slab of rock, Terra made her way through the city. Hovering over the mass morning crowd that was on their way to work. She chuckled animatedly to herself as she watched pedestrians below mile about trying to get to their required destination.

New to town...? Of course, she'd been somewhere on the west coast in LA living it up in Hollywood before word had traveled of the growing superhero population in Vector City. Excited about this, she packed up and quickly made her way across the states to bed down here. She had her own condo which was pretty pricey for a girl living on her own. However she managed well enough with secret funds coming in from her rich daddy.

Floating through the city on her rock slab she waited for a prime opporitunity to have some fun. A fun girl at heart, she hated Sunday's the most, so boring and hardly anything was open for long if not at all. "Moi, its so boring in this city... where the hell are the clubs at... oh wait. It Sunday! Damn!" she seethed touching down in a local park as she watched families do the family thing. "Booooring!" It would be fun to cause a little chaos but what fun would it be to start trouble and not have some to enjoy it with her.

"Coming from a snake, I'm not sure how to take that." Raven glanced at him, a slight smirk on her face as she pulled her hood back up. She hated for people to see her smiling. She felt so.. ackward. The feel of his tongue on her neck didn't help that very much, either. "I try. Sometimes its really hard to keep things together. If I didn't though, I'd probably lose it entirely. Better to be bottled up than a emotional destruction, I suppose."
She sighed, glancing at him. "And I'm rambling." She got to her feet, her hand against him as he stayed about her neck. "C'mon. I'll take you back to your room... I think we could both use a bath. Relax, calm down, clean up... Everything should be better then."

Robin nodded to Starfire, and the two drifted off to sleep in each others’ arms. At around five in the morning, Robin woke up with a strong urge to urinate, and then decided to grab a glass of milk from the kitchen before going back to sleep. Then, hearing the intercom, he made his way to the first floor and let Vulcan in. “Uh... Morning...”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vic ran and ran, and strangely, he didn’t seem tired at all. His lungs did not burn -- they must have been made out of iron or something. Through his right eye, he saw normally, but through his left was like looking through a robot’s eye. Things were colorful and vibrant with a tint of red, but in the lower part of his vision, he could see numbers and words.
POWER SUPPLY: 100.00%
POWER RESERVE: 100.00%
CONDITION: STABLE
STATUS: UNDAMAGED
“What the fuck...” he said after a moment, but continued to run. Then, something struck him and he stopped. He could sense there was something in his mind that wasn’t there before. He was bewildered as he was able to access it like a file on a computer, his mind’s eye reading a document about the capabilities of his body.
“Whoa...” he said as he turned his right arm into several types of laser guns and his feet into rocket jets. He flew through the air, amazed at the abilities of this new body, and actually found himself smiling. Seeing Reikka below, he spun around and landed down in front of her. “Don’t scream... My father fixed my body with robotics... I’m... I’m a cyborg...”
OOC: Also, since people have different ideas about the Tower, lemme clarify:
There is a parking lot to one side of the Tower where the newspaper trucks used to park. From here, there is a ramp leading down to the basement garage. The first floor is the command center, with the main systems and consoles and labs. The second floor is the lounge and kitchen and dining room, but it has some computers there too, like the one Robin hit to initiate the red alert. The third floor is the female bedrooms, and the fourth floor is the male bedrooms. Later on, the roof will have the T-Bird, which will be a flying machine for those that cannot fly of their own power.
Reikka could feel his thoughts but did not like to pry for long. For a moment everything was jumbled until some strange man who looked like Vic landed in front of her. She squeaked jumping back but knew instantly it was him... "Cyborg?" she question. "I don't understand... you were... then they took you.. you were so close to death." she said instantly tears streaming down her eyes.
The cybornetics were strange to say the least but it was Vic, he was alive and as well as could be expected. "Oh god..." she launched herself at him hugging himself tightly. "Are you okay... is everything okay. I picked up on your thoughts earlier you seemed stressed." She questioned still holding him tightly.
http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2623/cyborg01jh6.png
He held her close, trying carefully to control his strength. “Reikka...” he said, kissing her deeply. “I’m not sure what happened, but I woke up at STAR Labs and my dad had done this to me. According to him, my organs were failing and I would have died had he not acted... But... I’m a cyborg... A mechanical freak... I don’t even know if I’m capable of.... of.... of keeping you happy...”
Reikka sighed leaning her head agaisnt his now metal chest. She sighed hard trying to process this but then shook her head hard. "Make me happy? Are you insane... I don't care about that, I'm just glad to see that you're okay." she said unable to help herself as she kissed him again. She slowed her affections long enough to actually take into account his current form. Almost from head to toe he was in a cyborg form... "This is going to take some getting used to Vic." she breathed taking him by the hand.
"Come back to the tower we can talk in private.. I just want to be alone with you."
“Okay...” Vic smiled weakly and kissed her again, and the two proceeded to the Tower and up to Reikka’s room. He gave a quick explanation to Robin and Vulcan as they passed them. Sitting down on the edge of Reikka’s bed next to her, the two held hands and talked. “Can you ever grow to love a cyborg?” Vic asked out of the blue, looking deep into her eyes.
"No." she said simply. "I don't think I could ever learn to love a cyborg..." She sat on the edge of the bed with him still holding his hand. "I could learn to love you however. Its not the equipment that intrigued me in the first place Vic. I like your personality, and the confidence you once had. I know its going to be a rough road but if you want me to help you through it..."
This was all very hard to take in. Within the blink of an eye he'd been turned into a completely differnet person. "Wow... this is.. you're father must really love you to work so diligently in saving your life. I don't think I can bring myself to believe my father even cares about me." she said tracing a line down his metalic limbs. "Its cool to the touch and so smooth... what does it feel like? Does it hurt at all?"
Vic shook his head. “I can barely feel my shoulders, and I don’t feel anything below that. It’s like when your foot falls asleep or something. The implants in my brain let me know that my limbs are there, though. My face I can feel, but no, I don’t feel any pain. I feel full of energy and powerful. It’s odd, when I ran here, I never got tired. My lungs never burned, and I didn’t feel my heartbeat pounding... In fact, I don’t feel a heartbeat at all...”
