Titans: The Revised Adventures RP

"Yeah if mucus colored pets are your idea of cute. But who am I to say...maybe you have a thing for mucus is that it?" Reikka leaned back on the couch crossing her legs as she eyed Beastboy for a moment. It was a pretty impressive talent on the other hand. "So you can change into animals, how about turning into a chicken and throwing yourself on the fryer...that or lay an egg or two so we can have breakfast."

"Reikka!"
Star shot her a horrified look, cradling BeastBoy in her arms as she turned away. "What terrible things to say! You shall not eat our companion!!" She frowned down to him. "I shall protect you, Beast Boy..."

"I... came in at a bad time, didn't I." Raven said flatly from the doorway. "Though the idea of some breakfast isn't sounding half bad right now."

"There shall be no eating of friends!!," Starfire shrieked.

"Hey look I'm not a cannibal if that's your case. I was kind enough to ask him to shift into something edible." She shrugged standing to her feet and eyeing Raven. Oh god finally, someone who didn't have smiles and cheer all over their face. "Mornin'..." Reikka called to Raven but went toward the kitchen, hissing at Beastboy and Starfire along the way. "Good for nothing....." most of what she had to say was muttered as she searched in the fridge for something of the edible variety. "So what's on the agenda for today, folks?"

Robin nodded to Ashton, then just kind of stared as the event between Starfire, Reikka, and Beast Boy unfolded. After she walked into the kitchen, Robin called after her. “Have whatever you want here, or we can stop by Bob Evan‘s. It’s up to you all.”

Robin sat down with Star on one of the couches, then smiled as Beast Boy returned to normal. “Don’t let Reikka get to you,” he whispered.

OOC: If you want, we can have them go to Bob Evan’s for breakfast, then go for a walk in the park as they try and clear their heads about the previous night and wait for the meeting at the tower. If that’s the case, let’s try and get the team to meet Donna, Grant, and Rupert in the park. Also, I didn’t post it, but just pretend Robin called Spinter to meet them at the tower :p.

"Out sounds good." Raven peered into the fridge, frowning. "We'll keep the new fridge better stocked than this, right?" She glanced out to him, smirking.

"I think he is very cute as a feline," Starfire pouted, holding him in her arms. She let him go when she sat with Robin, blushing. "I am sorry, friend! You probably wish to return to a human form now. You are quite.. cuddly!" Instead, she leaned against Robin, smiling. "...as are you...," She said softly.

Reikka came from the kitchen making a gagging sign at Starfire's approach to Robin. "Out we must go out to eat." Reikka said suddenly, any longer in this place with mucus wonder over there and cuddly friend girl, or Reikka would vomit for real. "Bob Evan's is a good idea indeed. Quick to the batmobile...op... my bad."

Di sat up suddenly as Reikka entered the kitchen and hollered from the fridge about breakfast. She'd left Raven a few hours previous; the girl just seemed to want to be alone with her thoughts. Di had returned and fallen asleep sitting up in a chair at the kitchen table, her head resting on her folded arms.

Reikka's cry for breakfast, then Dick's response about the restaurant, had Di's full attention. Breakfast sounded incredible. THe girl was used to only getting about 4 hours of sleep, so she'd be good for the day with no sleep issues. She noted that Raven seemed to just be arriving, and wondered about that girl's own sleep. Had she slept in the cemetary? Or maybe she didnt need sleep at all... creepy.

"I'm all for Bob Evan's if the rest are. I'm starving, and - from the looks of Dick's typical bachelor fridge - we won't find much here." She laughed, tossing a towel into the living room at her long-time friend. She always teased him about his "pad" and how it was overly-macho.
She saddened, briefly, thinking that if her memory served her, it had been Angel's idea for the gals to decorate the new place. It had been a great idea; too bad she wouldn't be here to help Di - and Star, and whomever else - to finish it. They'd have to put something in there just for her - something pink and frilly, maybe, just to get on the guys' nerves. At that, she laughed.

"So. Who's for breakfast??"

Sunlight at her back she crested the hill just down the way from the cafe. Grant looked nervous..or agitated or something, he was pacing and she tried to get his attention, being a few dozen yards away before he finally looked up and spotted her, she smiled wide and waved. Radiant early day sun warmed her skin even through the cardigan shrug she'd pulled on, it gave her some sort of halo or golden aura until she moved down the slope of the hill and out of the light. Soft pale blue eyes sparkled as she walked to Grant, wicker basket, complete with a peeking hint of gingham red and white lining, hung over her arm. Donna stopped just short of Grant and looked him over, he still looked tired but remarkably better now then when she'd first spotted him. She must not have seen him properly from the distance she was...he didn't look the least bit upset now at all.

"I hope you like muffins!"

The look of question was answered as soon as she opened the basket and pulled out a large blueberry muffin and held it out to him.

"They looked so good I picked up a few on the way, thought we could have breakfast while we walked, maybe find some good places for pictures. I have coffee too, not sure how you like it though."

A thermos was also nestled in the basket, packets of creamer and sugar alongside it.

Wow. She glowed. Like, really glowed. Grant could only stare at Donna's approach. A shy, goofy smile slowly spread over his face. There was just something so...wholesome about the way she looked, her smile and the picnic basket. He could forget that he was a sqautter living in a crumbling house, that the people he thought were his parents had betrayed him without batting an eye, that they were murdered soon after, all his troubles seemed to be impossible in the light of Donna Troy's smile.

"Uh, yeah, muffins are fine." Nice opener, very smooth. "I mean, it's good to see you." "You look really good."

Okay, he hadn't meant to say that so obviously. He'd wanted it to be much smoother than that. Don't push her, just be friendly. She's looking for a friend, not a guy who's all over her. "Well, uh, let's get started." "There's a lot to explore today right?" "You feel like the park or the river first?"

Donna handed over a muffin and looked as he gestured to each place, the light would be too off for the river yet, mid day and afternoon would have the sunlight glinting off the water so that might be better to wait on.

"Why not the park first? I bet the light will be great there."

And without warning, save the soft hint of her giggle her camera was out and snapping a quick shot of him before he had a chance to prepare for it.

Grant started when she snapped the picture, then laughed. "Careful, you'll break the lens if you point it this way too much." Man, she was really fast with that thing. He hadn't even noticed it until he heard the shutter snap. His cheeks were stained with a faint blush, he was still embarrassed that she'd want to take pictures of him. It was really flattering but...he couldn't help but feel awkward about it. "The park it is!" "A walk under the trees on the sunlit morning of All Hallows Eve."

Remembering how she'd linked arms with him yesterday, he made a great show of offering her his arm, "Shall we, dear lady?"

She couldn't help but laugh with his reaction, a quick stroke of his cheek, partially moving his hair from his eyes. He was good looking, she had no idea why he'd think otherwise, but the shyness was sweet too.

She grinned and linked her arm in his, heading off for the park with him leading her. Picnic basket resting over her other arm and swinging at her hip. Her camera dangled around her neck, ready to catch a shot at a moments notice.

"Halloween! Of course...I forgot all about it."

She cringed, normally one of her favorite hollidays, candy aside as she was a bit old for the trick-or-trick game, she loved the idea of being someone else for a night. And here she had fogotten it in the hustle and bustle of her recent arival. So much to do and she'd already be busy saving people. Luckily she'd managed to avoid all but token press. Likley someone thought it was a Halloween prank. At least that worked in her favor.

"Now the kids running around makes sense."

Lucky camera.

Grant blinked that thought away, not wanting to admit he'd thought it even to himself. "Yeah, it kind of snuck up on me too." Normally, the kids running around on Halloween annoyed him. Now though, it was charming. Reminded him of younger, more carefree days. "I used to really get into Halloween when I was a kid." "We moved around a lot, but on Halloween, with everyone wearing a mask, I wasn't much more of a stranger than anyone else." He grinned, "I like horror flicks too, so they'd always be on TV around Halloween."

When he'd showered at the school, he'd seen a flyer for a public masquerade party that Wayne Industries was throwing downtown. It had been a long time since he'd gone to a party. It was going to be longer too. As much as he might like to go, it was risky. "How about you?" "Did you do much for it?"

The park wasn't far, and as they strode out into the green public space, Grant breathed in the smell of falling leaves. The trees were a riot of colors, those that still clung to the branches. The path was almost covered in them, the fallen foliage muffling the sound as they walked along. It was early enough that the park was sparsely populated, a man walking his dog, a middle aged couple jogging. Beyond that, they had the space to themselves.

Beast Boy

The light caressing of Starfire's ankles with his downy soft furred back had had the desired effect as promptly scooped him up for a cuddle. Gar smiled from within her arms. When she set him down on the couch, he was pondering whether to speak or change into something else or just see how far being a cute kitten would take him.

Then the conversation between Starfire and the other women had taken an unexpected turn, and Gar instinctively did the feline equivalent to a raised eyebrow. Starfire's covering of his ears, though, had interfered with his train of thought; then she'd practically buried him against her chest and he smiled again. I could get used to this. I wonder if she's seeing anyone?

He solved any potential dilemmas over eating him by becoming himself once more. Robin had come and sat by him and Starfire on the couch and whispered a reassurement about Reikka. Gar gave the cynical looking girl a glance and laughed. "I think not letting her get to me is easier said than done."

Or little Gloomy Gerty over there, either. Purple hair. Cool.

One of the other women came into the room with a boisterous, "So. Who's for breakfast??" Gar couldn't help giggling.

"Not me, I think that's been agreed on." He laughed. "But, Bob Evans sounds great. Just tell me who I'm riding with or...", he stepped off the couch and became a bright green starling, "...who I'm following there. I'm new in town."

Ashton let his thumb go off the button, then set the weapon back in the case he had brought. He stretched, then thought for a moment, listening to the banter. He shook his head at Reikka's suggestion of eating Beast Boy. Then he nodded. "Food, some juice, and maybe a shower and I'll be fine." He locked up the case and picked it up.

"Fussy fussy fussy... I was only playing geez." Reikka said as she hopped upon the counter of the kitchen with a chuckle. With Beastboy now in a more human formate she smiled warmly with a wink. "No hard feelings I hope...but trust that if you get on my bad side the fryer is the last of your worries. There's microwaves, ovens, toasters, hell I think Ashton has a blow torche back there some place." She had a serious glare to her features but it smoothed into a soft smile before she started laughing again. Yeah she would have fun teasing this one...and the endless dry humor she could play with. Bliss.

Clapping her hands she hopped from the counter to the floor in a graceful motion her skirt flutter back to her thighs. "So Bob Evans it is. I got room on my bike for one...anyone care to ride with me?" Though she thought about taking Ashton's van again...nah.

“I call dibbs on the shower first,” announced Robin, smiling at Starfire and then headed to his room. Grabbing a clean pair of light blue boxers, blue jeans, and a white t-shirt, he proceeded to the bathroom and stepped in the shower after shedding his clothing.

OOC: I know, another short post. I’ll post again tomorrow night. Remember, tomorrow I work 14 hours so I won’t be on till after 11. Hopefully some of you are on :). I’ll be on for a few hours monday morning, then I work 3 to 11, then I’ll post again monday night, and then I have my three days off.

"So how much trouble do you think there's going to be today?," Raven asked with a frown. "Being Halloween and all, its going to be hard to find anyone right now."

"Hall of Weens?" Starfire made a face as she picked up her things. "I- am not sure I wish to know about this.."

Raven smirked, pausing a moment to let her black clouds form about her and change her clothing back to her typical jeans and purple tee. Sometimes listening to Starfire's confusions could be really amusing. She sat down next to her, glancing back to BeastBoy as he changed into the starling. "I'd be careful on how many birds you take on around Riekka..." She paused, glancing over to her. "I'm... not quite sure if she was joking on that last one."

Reikka simply chuckled to Raven's reply. If they didn't know it wouldn't matter much to her. "Yes that is the question is it not?" she spoke breezily and slipped past everyone to take a look out the window a new day. She eyed Starfire then realizing the girl had no clue what this day was. "I suppose I could be of some enlightenment. "You see today is the day people dress up in hideous outfits and pretend to be someone they are not. They go door to door screaming 'trick or treat' and people come from their homes to toss candies and various goodies in there bag." She smiled softly looking as if she would explain things on par for once. Not likely, "But you see it would be a better holiday if they passed out candy with tacks, pins, needles and other chokeable products. Poision is often good... too." " And the most fun of it all is if they ran over those adorable little ninjas and sailorfuku." All this was said with a bright smile and perfect glee. One had to wonder if she were sane or not. "I hate Halloween as you can guess."

Starfire gave her a confused look as Riekka explained to her what the day was for. "People scare others into bribing them with goodies to leave their homes? And you celebrate such an occasion of fright? I- do not understand..."
She gasped as Riekka went on. "Even if they are frightening, why would one give out such terrible things?! That would be cause of such great pain!"
She frowned, getting up from the couch and looking around a moment. "Where did I leave it...? Oh, Robin's room! Pardon me, friends!"
...And with that, she skipped back down the hallway.

Raven gave a glance Riekka's way, shaking her head. "You're terrible. That girl is going to have issues, you keep doing that to her." Still, she coudn't help but smirk.

The trees were a brilliant blaze of reds, golds and oranges. The leaves caught the sun and looked like each tree was bursting into flame save for the soft crackling rustle of the leaves before they shook free in the breeze and floated to the ground. IT was perfect and Donna paused to set up a few quick scenic shots. Passers by were captured in frames of sunlight and color. An older couple holding hands as they slowly walked by, their dark gray and blue sweaters contrasting with the bright colors behind them.

Donna had an eye for pictures and as she turned to Grant she spotted a shot in progress. Slowly a leaf floated down, drifting like a feather on the wind. Six shots clicked off catching the leaf as it passed his face. Then she caught it and tapped it to his nose with a grin. Fingers turned the leaf over in her grip as she thought about his question...ohh the ways to answer.

"I always liked it, fun holiday. I mean..think of it...one night a year where you can be anyone..anything else. With out restriction, without flaws or faults. Total and complete freedom. Plus free candy...what's not to like?"

Her manuver with the leaf caught him off guard, all he could do was grin foolishly. It was seriously cute, and well, more than just cute. Something about it really got to him. For a moment afterward, he felt as though she had stolen his breath away. Man...once again without meaning to, she was really messing with his head.

"Without flaws...yeah, I always liked that." He sighed, "I always dressed up like a superhero." He didn't know why he was telling her this. He was just showing what a geek he was. "Superman, usually." "I wanted to feel like I was that special...and that invincible." "When I was younger, and I put on the cape and the "S", I felt like none of the crap I had to deal with mattered."

Well, THAT was depressing.

"Who wouldn't want to be a super hero, you know?" He smiled, shaking his head. It was funny. Now that he had the powers to be a hero, he'd lost everything that he would have cared to protect with them. "Though I guess it can't be as much fun as you might think."

"Not so far fetched. I mean...if you had powers, wouldn;t you feel obligated to use them to help people? And somewhere along the way someone isn't going to be happy about it. It's why so many Heroes hide who they are. Can you imagine trying to live openly like that?"

Donna could, and would rather not think of the number of times she'd nearly been 'outed' just by trying to do the right thing. She sighed heavily and twirled the leaf again. Why couldn't it be as easy as it seemed like it should be?

"So...ideal world...you can have and do anything you want...what would it be?"

Only women can do that, put a guy on the spot with an impossible question and not even blink.

Grant blinked, almost stumbling. Whoa, where had that question come from? What could he say? The truth...well, the truth would be...

The right answer.

"I'd want to know who I am." He turned away from her for a moment, somehow not wanting her to see how vulnerable he really was on this topic. "Before they died, I found out that the people who raised me weren't my real parents." "They didn't even really care about me, or that's what they said." "They raised me because someone told them to." "I don't know who that was...or who my real parents are, if my real parents are even alive."

"This might not make any sense to you, but there are a lot of things I don't know about myself." He wanted to tell her about his powers, bear his heart to her. Something about her made it feel easy. "I want to know who I am and where I came from." "I mean, how can I know where I'm going to go if I don't know where I've been?"

He frowned, feeling all the weight of his troubles on his again. Not the way he wanted this day to go. He turned back to face her, trying his best to fake a smile. "After that, I'd like it all." "Travel the world with a beautiful girlfriend, see the world, make something of myself." "Have the power to make the world a better place, not to harm it." Whoops, that was a little too close to the truth.

The fact was, he liked having his powers...except for the whole explosion thing. He liked how it felt when he ran faster than a car, or tore apart steel with his bare hands. If he could only control it...

"So, what about you?" "What could the talented, beautiful, and bright Donna Troy want in a perfect world?"

Ashton shook his head. "Ladies, Ladies, please give it a rest. Anyways, Miss Starfire, Halloween is the modern term for All Hallow's Eve. Essentially, it's an ancient holiday to celebrate those who came before us."

Reikka chuckled wickedly staying silent for the time being. No need to start a riot if people couldn't take a joke it wasn't her problem. "Look I'm going to hop on my bike and head home for a clean up and change. I'll meet you guys there... ciao." she called and headed out the door without a second glance back.
