Even in WW2, Merchant seamen had their pay stopped from the time their ship was sunk, because they were no longer on board.
 
Read that story this AM. Fascinating.

Hope they make a doc about it. Would love to see them go through the analysis.

my thoughts exactly, most of the victims died from hypothermia and drowned to due to temperature shock.

ships don't usually sink anymore these days, its those stomach virus that spreads around the ship that's most concerning...
