Tired Tropes

One of the most gratifying things about writing and publishing my "trope" story is that in 30 days I've received 58 comments to that story. Here are a few:

On the other hand, in the interest of full disclosure, I'll reveal I received these, too:
Yours is an impressive achievement, to be sure. Your kind of success makes the trope all the more tempting to try. I suppose that’s the way it works. The temptation will live in the back of my mind and if I get an idea I like that I think gives it a unique spin, I will give it a try.

I’d love to write a ‘riding on someone’s lap in a car’ story that did the trope justice. Kind of hard to match some of the greats though. I’ve abandoned every attempt thus far.

Call me naive and innocent, but I'd always assumed the 'mom on son's lap' stories just started there, mom realising that son is physically responding and thus they both think about it, and then actual sex happened elsewhere, later.

I suspect this may be a trope that is less popular in the UK, given practically everyone I know has been inspired by American movies and media to try sex in a car, and concluded that Yanks don't drive our size of hatchbacks...

It's not particularly comfortable in American cars either.
