HEY PEOPLE
I always find stories on group sex to me less in number i.e they are rare... so i decided to write one... but the problem is i am not able to decide on the ratio... pls suggest
Hi,
personally from the one's I've read I would go for at least 4 (there can be always something going on in the background while you are focussing on other couples).
It would probably be best if you were to say stick with what you know or at least as simple as possible for your first story or two.
Now though if you are hell bent on doing a group sex thing, really the best way to go about is to focus on one person and follow their adventure in the orgy. Like say you have one guy and 4 women, focus on the guy and only mention anything else as an aside type thing. Otherwise you are are running into the biggest enemy of having readers, confusion.
See the more things you have happening, or the more jumping around you do the less people are going to read the story and the worse reviews you are going to get because many will get confused and stop reading.
Think of stories like Oliver or Huck and Finn, they both follow the main character almost exlusively. Neither is in first person either, if you never read those, how about Starship Troopers, not the movie the book. The more you jump around the more confusing you get, at least partly, the better you write of course the less confusing but generally even the best of writers don't jump all over the place, Stephen King being something of an exception to a small degree. He jumps, but he has a set group of characters he follows and every once in a long while he jumps to the main bad guy.
Thanks for the tips, friends. This could come in handy, though in my case, the stories are not always about complete orgies. That is, at least one of the stories involves Mormon polygamy, which is a different animal, but there is still a group aspect. Does make it easier to focus on a main protagonist, at least.
The other one is a gang-rape story, which is a matter of raw smut and less actual emotion/relationship. Then again, there's a subplot of forbidden Sapphic love emerging in that context, so we'll see. I say forbidden because the women are both conservative, married, and quite devout Christians.
My first group sex story was The Drive-In. I used four people, two men, two women. It turned into a MFFM story. I used different POV's moving from one character to the other. It worked very well, allowing the reader a chance to see each person's personality as well as finding out what each one was doing.
The trickiest thing for me was making sure my limbs didn't get tangled and I knew where every one was. During one scene I had one of the men sitting out, jacking off while the other three played. Another scene was just the two women. Another was the couple in the backseat making out while the ones in the front got to know each other better.
Just take your time. See the scene in your head and go slow writing it out. Don't be in a hurry to get there; let it flow naturally. I don't recommended staying with what you know... otherwise how do you grow as a writer if you stay in one genre. I don't know a damn thing about transexuals or lesbian sex, or gay males, or non-humans, but if I hadn't tried to step out of my box of heterosexual stories I wouldn't have written some fun and exciting tales.
The hardest thing about writing stories w/multiple characters is keeping everyone separate, both so the reader can follow in their mind what is happening and maintain credibility for the interaction.
To keep them separate, you really need to know each person very well yourself. I suggest beginning with a thorough chracter description and study of each, maybe 500 words or so. You should know them well enough that you can say what they eat for breakfast and how much salt they like on their popcorn.
If you can make them real, they'll be interesting. If they're interesting, the sex will be. After all, sex by itself is pretty predictable. It's the people who are interesting.
