I have win 2000 and IE ver.6. Whenever I open a new web page the window is very small. I can resize that window and the rest of the pages opened during that session will open at the resized size. However, if IE is shut down and started again, the new pages open at the small size.

How can I get IE to open the new windows at a bigger size every time?

I hope someone has the answer to this, because I was wondering the same thing.

i dont know of any solution to this problem either.i have expierienced it many times and what i usually do to fix it is just open like 10 IE6 windows and maximize them all then close them and next time i start IE its usually maximized.hope that helps

It actually is a result of how IE reads the new window from the server... Once you resize it, IE remembers the size you prefer and uses it. The only way to fix it would be on the server but then the windows you open would only open to the size specified. Just something we have to deal with right now...

How about right clicking on the shortcut and
hitting properties and selecting, always open maximised.
I know this is an all or nothing solution, but it might
be of help...

I had this same problem a while ago. I fixed it by expanding one of the small windows to near the same size as a maximized window, then clicking the Max/Restore button about a dozen or so times. Since then, the 'small' windows have been at the same size.

I helped a friend with this once on their PC and I might not be remembering all the steps. Theres a registry key you can change but it doesnt always work. Playing with the windows works the best.

Open IE like normal.
Right-click a hyper link and open it in a new window.
Close the original IE window.
Drag the new windows upper left corner so its flush with the upper left of the screen.
Drag the bottom right corner of the window to the bottom right of the screen. Dont click maximize.
Close the window.
