It absolutely counts and it's beautiful.

When I turn it upside down, the right side looks prefectly smooth, but the left side looks wobbly. The edges, I mean. Am I seeing things??

The moon looks that way because we never see the full face of the moon.
We see about 49% of it.
Therefore the irregularity is due to the texture of the moon surface.
