Time Waits for No One: Closer Than Family(Closed for The_Gladiator)

"Only if I get to sleep in that giant monstrosity you call a bed." he said with a laugh, "Good if I'm going home with you I don't have to worry about one of Lena's friends... conscripting me for an orgy or something. Not that some of them aren't hot, they are, but you get the point." he said blushing a little. "Kinda hard to explain that one..." he said. "Shit I turned the wrong damn way. Mark swerved into a drive way and turned around just to learn that the route he wanted to take originally was closed. He glared at the road block for a moment drumbing his fingers on the stearing wheel. "Now I really wish I had my bike," he said jerking his thumb at a narrow hiking traille that paralleled the closed road, "Ok Don't panic I know another way, lets just hope its not closed too." he added under his breath hoping she wouldn't be angry with him.

"Fine...but the minute you start stealing the covers, you're out on the couch," Roxy replied with a smile, then laughed when he spoke about her sister's friends. "Lena's friends aren't that crazy...though I can't speak for them once they've dipped into the alcohol," she added as he drove back in the direction he'd wanted.

For some reason she could only laugh when she saw the road block, pulling out her cellphone as she turned her head to look at him. "With our luck, there'd be a tree down across the path," she told him when he mentioned his bike, as she dialed her mother's cellphone. "Hey, it's me. Yeah...we hit a roadblock, but we'll be there as soon as we can," she said to her mother, then got the assurance that things would be tactfully stalled until they got there.

"So...bad news and evern badder news," she told Mark as she hung up. "Not only are they holding the photos and any required dancing until we get there, they're keeping the guests the guests happy by feeding them," she said with a sigh, resting her head back against the seat. "With our luck, once again, we'll probably miss out on the good stuff. Take whatever route you can...I need a nice drink," she said with a smile.

"Man the only reason I came was the free booze and the food, and now you say I'm going to miss the food?" Mark groaned as he sat at a redlight. "This just isn't my day, If I have to fight with Lisa later, you're dead." he said throwing a mock glare at her before driving out taking the turn a little too fast cutting another car off. "I knew it'd work." he wooped, "He had a nicer car, I beat him in chicken."

"Believe me...you'll get your booze and food," she told him, sighing when they hit the red light. "Since I highly doubt Lisa will show up at my apartment, though I wouldn't put it past her to show up just to be sure I hadn't seduced you or anything, I think you'll be spared that fight," she added, then braced a hand against the dashboard when he turned fast and cut off another car. "Ok...next time I need to fix my make-up, lie and tell me that I look beautiful. That way I know I'll end up driving and will survive the trip," she teased, though she let out a sigh of relief.

"You do look beautiful," he said his eyes on the road, "Forgot I wasn't on a motorcycle." he teased, going relatively the speed limit.
"Ok I also came to be with you," he said abruptly, just encase you weren't sure." he said as he drove through another light which promptly turned red, "Jesus christ." he growled looking around, "No cops, but I don't suppose I want to take my chances we'll just wait." he grumbled.

"You're just saying that because I actually fixed my makeup," she replied teasingly, though the statement once again brought a small blush to her face. "And it's a wonder you haven't killed yourself on that bike of yours, at the speed you drive sometimes," she told him, then blushed again when he stated his reasoning for going. "While I'd hoped that was a reason, it's good to hear you say it. Just like it's good to know you're not using me for free booze," she teased, then looked up when they stopped at another light. "Yeah..don't chance it. My luck, the cops will take down the plate and I'll be the one getting the ticket," she told him, then sat up more in her seat. "I think I see the restaurant up ahead. So...required photos of the wedding party and assorted family members, required dancing of one song where I hope you don't step on my toes, then we can hit the food and drinks," she said, letting out a breath. "I think we can manage it alright."

"Psh, I happen to be an excelent dancer," Mark said with a laugh, "where've you been? My mother enroled me in ballroom dancing in highschool? she thought, it would "Be good for me?" he said making quote marks in the air.

Roxy groaned. "I chose to forget that portion of my life because your mother nearly convinced mine to enroll me in the same classes. Plus I was the one stuck dancing with you whenever you needed to practice," she said, turning her head to look at him. "And I do recall a few sore toes when you first started," she teased, then sighed in relief when they reached the lot of the restaurant. "Ok...lets get this over with....then get drunk."

"Sounds good to me," he said offering her his arm, "M'lady?" he said smiling, only partially teasing.

She got out of the car and took his arm, rolling her eyes teasingly at him as they walked into the restaurant. The pictures were started once everyone was gathered together then, after what seemed after a million pictures, the first dance started. "Ok, Mr. hotshot ballroom dancer...let's see what you've got," she murmured teasingly, though slightly nervous, watching the rest of the wedding party trickle onto the dance floors.

He slowly led her out on the floor one arm sliding her around her waist and the other gripping hers, "Just follow my lead, you'll do fine." he said pulling her probably closer than he needed to, but he did it anyway. If she had called him on it, he probably would have denied that he had done so, but he did.

She nodded, resting her free hand on his shoulder as she tried to ignore how close they were. She did her best to follow him around the dance floor, smiling up at him as they danced. "I guess I can tell your mom those lessons finally came in handy," she teased softly, giving his hand a squeeze as they moved.

"Don't you dare, that would insinuate that she was right about something." he said chuckling a little and jerked his head at some people that were shooting them admiroring glances, and even a few jealous looks, "We seem to be getting some attention." he said with a small smile.

She looked around, smiling as she saw alot of friends and relatives looking at them. Then nearly laughed when she saw some of Lena's friends glaring. "I think April wants a shot at you," she teased, nodding towards the maid of honor who was watching them with avid interest. "You'd better be careful...I've heard stories that she doesn't stop until she gets what she wants."

"Mmm, and would that be so bad?" he teased smiling offering a smile that promised April at least a dance, "I'll give her her dance at the least." he said smiling down at Roxanne, well after yours and the Bride get one that is." he said with a smile.

Roxy laughed, smiling back up at him. "You always did try and make everyone happy," she teased in reply. "I know Lena would love a dance with you. YOu were the little brother she could pick on and get rid of whenever she wanted, unlike being stuck with me," she told him with a grin. "And be sure to watch out for April's hands. I heard they like to wander a lot...with or without alcohol."

"You know me, I'm such a people pleaser." he said not able to keep a straight face.
"Wandering hands, who said that's such a bad thing?. Sometimes you gotta take chip thrills where you can. Oh yeah." he said, "I'm not supposed to be polyamerous anymore, I'm supposed to be trying that whole one woman, one pussy thing." he frowned, "Oh, sorry too much information I know. Don't ask don't tell, right?" he said with a laugh, cause she knew all about all his sexual exploits, he could have once been called a man whore, before he grew up a little.

She laughed a little, shaking her head. "I definitely could've lived my life peacefully without having to hear that," she teased, smiling up at him. The song came to an end and she reluctantly pulled back from him. "I'm gonna see how my mom is holding up, then I'm heading to the bathroom to get this crap out of my hair. I've got my phone just in case you need to send an SOS," she teased, giving his bowtie a little flick before she set off in search of her mother.

He watched as she walked off smiling after her. Mark then watched the next dance start where the father and the bride danced together, and that's when he felt the hand on his shoulder. He turned and predictably there was April.
(Can you npc her?)

(Sure)

April Miller had had her eye on Mark since he'd walked into the church earlier that day, secretly telling herself that she'd get to him before the night was over. She'd watched with mild disgust when Roxy had danced with him, wondering what it was that he saw in her. Even though Lena had told him they were just friends, April had always wondered if there was something more to it.

She smirked when she watched Roxy walk off, smiling to herself as she made her way over to Mark after the Lena danced with her father. "She's a brave one...leaving someone like you all alone," she told him when he turned to look at her, smiling seductively up at him.

"What do you mean?" he asked pretending not to know what she meant, "You don't bite. . . right?" he said raising an eyebrow.

April smirked. "Mmm..not unless you want me to," she replied, her eyes roaming up and down his body. "Think you can spare a dance before your little friend returns?" she asked, her hand reaching up to rest on his arm.

He nodded, "A dance I think I can handle." Mark said gently placing a hand on her waist and taking her other hand in his, "Just follow my lead." he said putting her in a ball room stance, not a more intimate slow dance, he also kept her at a greater distance than he did with Roxanne.

As the third song started he lead her to the floor.

Meanwhile, before Roxanne could get to the bathroom to take her hair down her father approached her, "Might I have this dance pretty girl?" he asked smiling down at his little girl, who looked so grown up.

April placed her hand on Mark's shoulder, following him as they started to dance. "You know...you're pretty cute," she told him with a smirk, her fingers playing with the ends of his hair. "You got any plans tonight?" she asked him with a small grin, trying to move her body closer to his.

Roxy left her mother's table and started toward the bathroom, then became slightly annoyed when she felt a hand on her shoulder. The annoyance faded when she turned, a smile gracing her face when she saw her father standing there. "Of course, Daddy," she told him with a warm smile when he asked for a dance, moving with him onto the dance floor. "Today was definitely everything Lena could've asked for," she said with a smile, her eyes falling on her sister who was dancing with Kyle's brother.

"Yeah, thinking about getting drunk and going home and going to sleep actually, I know nothing special." Mark said to april deftly making it look like it was part of the dance when he kept her from getting too close his hand still in hers and the other at her waist.

"Yes It was, You did wonderfully helping her. Thank you for helping make it special for her." Roxanne's father said as he held his daughter to him his hand taking hers. "Think you're mother will give me another dance?" he asked teasingly, "Or is just one all I get?"
