Time to Vote

Oh Lordy, look here

I am not biased at all, of course.... this woman is genius. I can't help myself, she makes me gush.

makes me gush too. I feel like a geyser when I read her stuff.

isn't this voting thing LATE this year? or what....

The voting is very late this year. And I feel like a total poseur being nominated for anything because I've written so little here in the past year. There are some really great choices in the categories, but as usual it'll be a popularity contest. I do hope people here who care about good poetry will take the time to vote, and to vote for what they believe are the best poems and the people who take time and care with their poetry writing at Lit.

Uh, you're the fab poet and you're just buttering me up to... cook me like a turkey? lol

I hate the voting time of year. I just realized I have a poem nominated and influential poet. It's exciting to have a poem nominated. It's my first, I think. The influential poet thing? Um, wasn't I mostly a butt hole last year? :D

It's impossible to pick just one of the non-erotic poems, so many winners. The erotic - not so hard. (Where's that thread on porn v erotica? :) )

I hate it, too. I always just want it to be over once it starts. And I was kind of a butt this year, too. But not without provocation. Your poem deserves to win. It's excellent.

But I did tell ee if he doesn't vote for me it means he doesn't really love me lol. I only hold him to that standard though. :D

The non-erotic lineup is mighty fine this year. Especially contributions from people I (since I haven't been paying attention lately, I suppose) didn't even knew as poets. Bodes well for the community, I'd say.

And I see I need to start sumbitting some illustrated poems again. If a porn limerick with a non porn photo can get Lit props, I might have a chance next year. ;)

Okay. Don't shoot. But poets do not tend to vote for each other. Writers do. Even when they write poetry. I am not saying their poetry is not good, just that poets who are more isolated in the poetry world, do not get the number of votes to even be considered.

I know I know I know it is not all about the voting. Please don't preach. I know some people do not want to vote unless they make a comment. Don't hate. But bottom line, some of the very talented poets here do not get the recognition that the writer-poets do because of this, and I think that is a shame. I mean, even Most Influential Poet until yesterday, had a fiction writer in the lead. Just sayin'

I won't vote. I didn't nominate either. Sorry punkins, I really don't think mine will sway the popular vote towards quality rather than presence.

He does have some great work, agreed!

Another piece of great work: Redacted / bluebell7
I was just reading the other non erotic choices. Her poem is really, really good. I like it far better than mine. I was even the first one to comment on it when it was posted. :)

Teehee ms swirly. I tried hard to remember when I used punkin and I popped in to see what WE had to say and lo', there it is. I love the AV and I hope you didn't take any offence in my remarks. I was just endeavouring to explain my need to stay far away from the awards forums as possible...

You're a cute punkin too ... pumpkin :p.

oh I love her too. I want her to move in next door. I need to go check out that poem again, thanks for the point.

Oh if that were only me. I far too closely resemble the shape of a true pumpkin.

I don't ever take offense for too long and try to give people the benefit of the doubt, laugh first and then if I feel like it, look again. Usually anything that originally makes me go "hmmm?" fades in a day.

Who is going to come fold laundry with me? I am lonely.

Here are the non-erotic poems. Tough choice! Have you read all of these? I hadn't and am glad they were nominated and brought back to our attention.

I was blown away by Sassy's poem when she first posted it at Lit, but most of the poems in that group are really, really good. It's amazing how much writing talent is on display at this site.

Damn! That one is good, too! Okay, I need to go read all of them. I'm a slowpoke getting around to things.

Lol. Pokemon. Are your kids into Pokemon? Mine were obsessed with them for a few years, especially my son. They made me take them to the Pokemon movie, which is possibly the worst movie I've seen in my life. And I sat through it with them...twice.

You are a saint. I bought a box of Pokemon movies off craigslist for a steal. I soon learned why that mother was so interested in getting rid of the collection....

Thank goodness his pokemon obsession has passed. We are now ALL addicted to AVATAR.

Seriously. It is amazing. I love it. All five of us wait eagerly for NetFlix to bring us the next DVD, and everyone actually sits and watches it. I almost lied and said sits still. No one sits still. Two of them are generally crawling on me at all times.

Oh Eve, how could you say that? That from you? You're amazing. I'm almost afraid to read your poetry because it's so brilliant I'm afraid I'll never want to write again.
Vana's is really good, too. She always cuts to the core. As do you, both in entirely different (and magical) ways.

How do these end of year thingies work, anyhow? Lord knows I never submit, so I don't even know how this one got under the crack in the door.

oh I love her too. I want her to move in next door. I need to go check out that poem again, thanks for the point.
I like this plan. The moving in next door. Yes. Yup. Nods.

P.S.- I would want to crawl on you whilst watching Avatar as well, so I cannot blame your kidlets. :D

Bless you, child. Your reward shall be great.

I know fantastic poetry when I read it. And yours is fantastic. ;)

It was a tough choice, but I went for Redacted, too.
