Rep. Robert Talton is Republican, conservative, in Texas, and of course, homophobic.
So far the bill only has tentative approval, though. I think the Texas GayLesbian Lobby force is going to have to muster up lot's of support against this, maybe even ACLU.

it pisses me off that they make all these stupid laws b/c they are so scared someone is going to be happy. if they paid more attn to the national deficit instread of finding ways to infringe on ppls personal freedoms this country might be a better place. i have 2 kids and they are mine i wish they would tell me that b/c i am bi-sexual i am an unfit parent. i might not win my case but by the time i got done they would know i had been there. <evil looks at TX beauracrats>

Of course.. this makes perfect sense. It really really does. Let's exclude a sizeable portion of the population outright from fostering when there's a national shortage of foster parents! Next, let's exclude single people and unmarried couples too, because we all know that single parents and sex outside of marriage is BAD! Before long, they'll have to start using orphanages again because even the group homes won't be big enough.

Are we really reverting back to the days of segregation? But instead of racial it's sexual? Will there be glbt drinking fountains and will we be forced to sit at the back of the bus too?

Well... I believe it. They already passed a bill saying you had to be biological male to get married. Alot of transmen still get married, but if something ever comes up like a spouse dying and the transman being the survivor the marriage will be declared not legally binding. So unless the children are willed to the surviving partner they go to the next living relative... etc etc insert massive amounts of stupid bullshit here etc etc
