time to get published

How long is it taking to get published these days? I haven't submitted for a while, but when I did it only took a few days to get published.

My last piece, which was very short, went up in two days. I have an edit request in too, so I'll soon be able to calibrate that.

So thirteen days is a long time then?

Yeah, I'd say so. The standard answer is: send a PM to Laurel. (PM, not email) and ask her if there's an issue. It seems like sometimes stories get lost...

Even my first story only took a week to post.

Yes, that's longer than most new writers report. As Belle says, send a polite PM to Laurel. She won't respond, but you'll either see your story go live or you'll get a rejection notice.

Make sure, though, that it's currently showing as pending. Some folk think they've submitted something then find it's still sitting as a draft.

I submitted a chapter last Thursday that was published 2 1/2 days later, which is a day longer than usual. I submitted a chapter yesterday that has been approved and should be published in another 6 hours or so, which is more usual -- it usually takes about 36 hours for me.
