Take a little time, yes - but not too much! I won't say Colly relished the jousting, and won't say she didn't - I don't really know. She may have just felt it was her duty to be so persistent and diligent in upholding the truth as she saw it, in which case she would have carried on unto death if need be. She was the most consistently patient debater I've ever seen here. I've hung in for a more that a few days on occassion, but she did it all the time. And needless to say she never lost her graciousness, civility or composure.

In any event, after a decent pause I'm sure her desire would have been to let the games begin again!

Good. I'm glad you said that. Also "paying respect" doesn't have to mean "observing silence".

However, out of respect, not for Colleen, but for those of us who are grieving, I'm going to lose the smartass attitude for a few days.

I loved debating with Colly - she was so damn good at it! Plus, she was knowledgeable, and did research, and she educated me. We certainly had our disagreements, but I think we agreed on far more than either of us would admit to.

I looked back, and the last posts we exchanged were agreeable and humorous, and I remember thinking at the time how sometimes I tried to get her to laugh in the middle of a serious argument, and if she did, how good that made me feel; and I remember thinking how much I liked her. I didn't know, but that would have been close to the time she passed. Maybe it was her spirit reaching out over people she had known one last time before moving on. I think that's how I'll remember it, anyway.
