Tim burton Says No Way to 'Apes' Sequel By JAM! Movies
Anyone who has seen the remake of "Planet Of The Apes" knows the cliffhanger ending left the door wide open for a sequel, but director Tim Burton says he won't be the one crossing that threshold.

Reuters reports Burton told Britain's Independent newspaper Friday that his aversion to a sequel is related to his growing disenchantment with Hollywood studios.

"The idea of doing a sequel -- I'd rather jump out of the window, I swear to God," Burton told the paper.

"They give you a script, and you do a budget based on that, and say 'This movie would cost $300 million to make', and then they treat you like a crazy, overspending, crazy-person. It's like, 'Well, you gave me the script'," Reuters quoted Burton.

The only way to get your way in Tinseltown is to go "ballistic and psychotic," he added.

"I'm fascinated by the studio technique that sort of leaves you bloodied, beaten and left for dead right before you're supposed to go out and make a great movie for them."

Geez, This Sounds So Much....

like my former management.

I've learned to survive in that environment, perhaps Movie Director is in my future????

Hmm, a sequel to Planet of the Apes??

Costumes were great. Animal behaviors of the actors were very realistic.

But as a story???? Let's face it, the entire story - plot and all sub-plots could be described in detail in less than five minutes.

Couldn't have taken too long for the screen writer to bang out the script.

The sequel certainly can't build off the original story. Thus we move to a new planet and a different time for a potential sequel. At least the original movies were honest enough to remain on the post-apocalyptic earth. This new version just seems to gimicky to be taken seriously.

Maybe he can begin working on the remake of "The Dobemon Gang". Or better yet, "The Pit Bull Gang".

A late response.

To be honest, I can't see how they can write a sequel to the to Burton's cliffhanger at the end of the film.

How could apes literally take the place of man and not have a different society?

Anyway, I liked the original movies better.
