Lily/Avaline ~ Scy/Karl ~ Germany 1942

Lily wasn’t feeling very confident in the Goddess’ abilities. She looked over to the woman and sighed. “I sure hope you know what your doing here. You sure did make a mess of things haven’t you. Can’t muck up your own life so you have to muck everyone else’s up too... huh.”

She pushed past the weakened Goddess and found the bathroom. She showered and then climbed into bed. She rolled over, thoughts of brother swirled through her mind and she wondered if perhaps she and the Goddess had more in common then she was willing to admit. After all didn’t she love a man she couldn’t have... or at least that was what she thought, there was no one else for her to love at that moment.

“You know Avaline... you fell hard for him didn’t you?” She rolled back over to the Goddess and noticed she was just laying on the blankets beside her. “How come? What was it that made you know he was it and then... look at what’s happened, you could have been wrong... now he’s allowing Hitler to rule the world, win the war and you have to do what to get him to stop... what will you do if you can’t stop him.”

Lily rested on her back and looked up at the ceiling. “I feel sorry for you... almost. I think you’ve fucked up royally and he’s going to disappoint you big time. And... you’re getting weaker. I don’t know if you’ll have the energy to fight him if you have to... face it Avaline... you’re probably the most washed up Goddess there is and you just haven’t admitted it yet.”

“Thanks babe for getting me into this mess,” Lily rolled over and curled into a ball. “Hope he’s a good lay when you finally get the opportunity,” she muttered to herself, though she knew Avaline heard her.

Zues speakes with Raymond

Zues sighed, “You know Hetta... when the humans say ‘Good God’ they do it in frustration what do we say? I mean, I can’t very well say ‘Good God’... I am.”

Hetta laughed, “What is it dear... what have they done now?” She came over to his side and looked. “Oh my... why did he do that?” she asked.

“Do what? Let himself die? I don’t know! Why do they do anything? I mean the wounds weren’t that deadly. There is no excuse for him to be dead...” Zues pushed his fingers through his hair and grabbed a seat, pulling his wife onto his lap with him. “You know perhaps I’ll let Hades have him. I mean... what good is a dead human to the women folk down there? Besides... he was only after their bodies, flitting from one to the other, maybe he will learn to appreciate his life in the underworld.”

Hetta smirked, “Do you think that’s fair? He didn’t ask to be brought here. Avaline just took him just like she did all the rest, but he was different, the others at least got to meet the ladies. Avaline pulled him out of his time and plopped him down.”

“I guess you have a point,” he said.

“Of course I do,” she smiled. “I’m your wife after all.”

He laughed and kissed her on the lips. “Well I best find out what this lad wants done with his sorry self. He either chooses to complete the quests with Draken and work by his side as an equal or he stays in the underworld permanently, because I don’t have time for his ego and his young mind moving from one female ass to the next!”

“Hon,” Hetta called to hiim after she slid from his lap and saw him leaving. “Tell him how to use the map,” she winked and chuckled.

Zues rolled his eyes and descended to Raymond’s spirit. “Well what have you got to say for yourself?” the God asked, his eyes were glared at the young man and held his gaze steady on Raymond’s lifeless eyes.

Avaline and Lily ~ Karl and Scytherin ~ Germany 1942

Avaline lay quietly absorbing all of Lily’s hate and she tried to ward off the evil that was cursing violently inside her head. “Surely you’ll let me deal with that one. Won’t you? Avy she reeks of mortal evil. I could end her life for you. Finish it with one quick shot and you wouldn’t have to listen to her wasted breath.

The Goddess took a deep breath and spoke calmly to Lily. “Lily I’m sorry for what happened three years ago. As much as we like to believe we are... we are not perfect. Even Zues makes mistakes,” she told the woman, “big ones,” she added. He sure did mess up her life adding this demoness inside her. That was the only conclusion that made sense to Avaline.

Draken was her assassin and Zues had ensured it so he could finish the book of life’s orders and end hers. Zues obviously still didn’t believe in Richard and Avaline shuddered over the realization that he could be write. “I’m doing my best Lily. I am weak. I’m dieing... slowly, but dieing just the same. It doesn’t happen often to my kind, but when it does we’re given a chance to fix everything, and I hope I can.”

She rolled onto her back and closed her eyes. “Goodnight Lily. I don’t care if he’s a good lay or not. I just want him safe.” She turned away the evil inside her and concentrated on Richard’s voice. She loved his voice and his image became the ones her dreams were full of.

Seeing a shadowy figure enter the cave, Raven held her breath and then it seared through her...she felt the final beatings of ones heart and the saddness that pounded in her ears returned to her and she refused to breathe and let out the sound that wanted to escape from inside her.

As the figure approached her she began to back up...and trembling was not sure of who he was ...and as he spoke ..a flicker of recognition rang through her. She gasped aloud and somewhat assured that it was one known to her and that she was to help him...yes, that was it... she was to help him...a voice in her head echoed...

Raven the men will find you here... tell them of the riddles... and travel with them along the path on Raymond's map. Once they get here someone will arrive with a missive... and the first riddle.“

She backed up into the wall of the cave and cursed silently in her mind damned dark caves...walls popping up in the stupidest of places. She was unsure what to say to Drakken and yet she wanted to say so much. Her confusion was not well hidden from one that was watching her.
"Raven! I am so glad to see you. Are you okay? Where are your sis....ters........Raven?" . "Are you okay Raven?"

Shaking her head a little and now being cornered ...she opened her mouth to speak and and then gasped in horror as she saw a transparent figure behind the solid one...behind Drakken...it was a bit much for her to comprehend at once..and she slowly crumpled to the floor.

O.O! Raven collapesed suddenly and Draken swept down and guided her fall to the ground. He looked behind him and saw a very faint sillouette, as if a specter was behind him. He shook his head and began searching around the cave, his low light vision lighting up the cave in a red color. He saw no one else around, but kept feeling like he was surrounded by a group of beings.
"Raven? Raven whats the matter." (she is definitly not well, but why is she so weak. Humans dont just collapse for fun.)
Draken reached into his satchell and drip a bit of the Lazulii Water onto Raven's lips, hoping it would bring her to and ail her of whatever may have been clouding her senses and making her bug out. "Wyn.....she was supposed to be here too, with the others." He said aloud to himself before sitting down and resting Raven's head on one of his legs, away from his body.

The swirling images in her mind and the many voices blurred into a whirlwind in her head. Over load was a good way to put it. She did not hit the ground thanks to the quick movements of Drakken.

Something touched her lips and seeped into her mouth..she instinctively raised her hand to wipe away whatever it may be ...but was held back from doing so. The Lazulii Water caused her to gasp aloud and arch up off the cave floor. She settled and looked around and the darkness and feeling something soft yet firm under her head she reached up and felt what it was. She looked up and saw Drakken looking down at her and whispered a soft greeting to the Dragon Man.

"I am so sorry, I do not know what came over me ..I thought I saw something behind you and ...oh, I dont know what I am seeing anymore..."

"How did you find me? Do you have the map...we need the map because of the riddles...."

Raven paused...she didnt know what riddles she was speaking of but knew she had to tell him...shaking her head slightly she eased herself off of his warm lap and began to stand up. Still feeling a little shaky she managed and wondered what had happened to her sisters and if they were still here in the cave with her.

"Please do not appologies. You were not yourself. Something seems to have instiled images into your head. What i gave you was only a bit of water found in my forest, and i do not think it is a permanent fix. Wasnt even sure if it would work, but i am glad you are okay." Draken paused

He looked around behind him again just to see if he could see anything at the entrance. "As for the map......its with Raymond......with his body. I left him at the entrance. I....Raven; I dont think he's alive anymore. He lost conciousness from wounds he suffered while we were searching for everyone. He seemed okay at first but then it was like, he gave up. I dont know the fragility of humans, but....i dont think he is alive. I am sorry."

Ravens hand went over her mouth as Drakken told her of Raymond...shaking her head in disbelief she knew that was what she had felt and most likely saw before she collapsed.

"Oh my god...we need him to use the map...I am not sure how to use it and I dont think you do...do you?"

Oh this was not good...the one that could work the map and he is gone...how is that possible...they were not supposed to die out here...they were to find true love and do a few simple quests or tasks...what the hell was happening to them.

"Forgive me, for i am unsure how it works. It reacts to me oddly. Like at the most inoportune times, or randomly. I think it has something to do with thought or emotion, but i've not been truly worried about the map. My main concern was finding you and your sisters. I saw Zues take Wyn, surely he took her here with you. Do you remember anything?"

(I can treat injuries, heal wounds, maybe even limit sicknesses, but i cant return a soul to its body.) He thought to himself.
<You should have harvested his soul into this blade of yours Lastar. You saw how weak he was, how incompetent and distracted he was. You should have done the job yours...> The voice continued in his head but Draken tried his best to ignore it and concentrate on Raven. Seth rambled on his normal Demonic wills and thoughts while Draken looked back at Raven.

"Raven. Will you be okay? I know its harsh, but death is apart of life. No one here is incapable of dying. You and your sisters, me, Raymond; no matter how strong we may look or be there are circumstances surrounding why we are here. Those are both good and bad. We need to find your sisters, together they can help you." He paused, trying to think of something comforting. Draken never really had much practice at things like this. Ever since his only love Luna Himura had 'dissapeared' into the Demon Realm he had been alone. That was almost 8 years ago.

"I have this feeling that something is following me. If Raymonds will was stronger then his reason for dying he may still be waltzing around as a spirit. That or his soul hasnt been collected yet. He may be able to help us indirectly, but i advise we try to reunite with the rest of your sisters that are in this age. We need to get back on track where we left off before those sides clashed together." He figured he'd stop the rambling and leave it at that before he put his foot in his mouth. This time of weakness though was not helping his emotions towards Raven. She was alone, scared, and now devistated at the loss of Raymond. He wanted to comfort her, but the thought of Wyn kept him at bay.

Raymond watched the scene in the cave quietly, ignoring Zeus for a moment.

"You know, for a supposed god, you really fucked things up. You screwed earth, got me killed, and sent the lizard to kill someone who actually gives a damn about us. You don't have a damned clue what you're doing, do you? How in the hell did you expect me to survive a god damned WAR? You try being a human with no experience in that area without powers or an old ass of a god to kidnap you, and see how well YOU last. Bastard."

Raymond sighed, the last of his anger emptying out of him.

"So now what, you going to send me off to your dear brother? I bet he's loving Hitler winning the war, thanks to you."

Raymond turned back to look at Raven, wondering what would happen to her and her sisters. Twice they saved his life.

Guess third time was the charm.

Zues and a Spirit

Zues rolled his eyes and thought to himself. “If Lily were here... this would be her man, or at least she’d bitch louder than him.” He looked at Raymond and with a flick of his wrist showed him Spirits suffer pain. He sent Raymond’s Spirit spiraling down to the pits with Hades and met him there. “We’ll talk here.”

As Zues allowed the young man to feel the pain of mankind and all its atrocities he spoke. “You were chosen by Avaline. For some reason she saw something in you and thought you would be a worthy love for one of the sisters. I believe she’s wrong. WE will deal with things as they come. As far as you dying... that was your fault. Had you not been so full of the sexual needs of a raging bull I wouldn’t have had to bring that battle to you. Had you been able to get along with Draken and show some maturity I wouldn’t have had to force you to fight together.”

He watched the deaths of thousands be felt by Raymond, watched his face become a clenched mask of pain and sorrow. “This is where mankind descends when they behave like you. When they care only for the next “roll in the hay” as you humans say.”

Zues removed them from Hades depths and back to the cave. He gave Raymond no time to speak. “I granted the powers to a mortal because he loved a Goddess... or so he said. Now she will die and no one but he can save her. She’s weak and only Draken will beable to finish her off only her Richard can make her live.”

His eyes flashed angrily at Raymond. “You would have survived this war if you’d work with the man that was with your group, but instead your raciest attitude got you killed. Blame no one but yourself. We’ll deal with the German. If we desire your help... you probably wouldn’t be able to do much but fuck his bitch so you could figure out how to use the map!”

He rolled his eyes, “And how did you think that was going to get you laid? Not once did I tell you that you had to be aroused. I showed you how it worked and you used it as a tool to try and screw.”

Zues’ eyes stared hard at the man. “If you’re ready to grow up and stop thinking of yourself, I’ll return you to your body and you may live. Draken will only believe you were seriously injured and your breathing shallow. Wyn will finish healing you. If you’re wishing to remain a boy then by all means let me know so I can get back to taking care of this piece of filth you call humanity.”

Ray and Zeus

Gasping, Raymond felt like he never thought he would.

Again.

"You... don't know... a fucking thing... about me..." Raymond pushed himself up to his feet, and used the cavern wall to keep standing.

"Fuck... getting laid. If that's all I wanted, I'd have stayed with the whore you gave me. Or did you forget that too? Just FIX this shit storm you created, I don't care how."

Raymond looked back at Draken and Raven.

"You know if they knew, they'd kill your assassin."

Zues and Raymond and a mortal punishment...

Zues laughed, his whole body shook. "This hunter will destroy Avaline because I have commanded it. If he doesn’t he too will be dealt with. If he fails then it isn’t because of him and his mighty brawn or the measly attempts to save her. I’m Zues... I’m not some boy you can run and tattle on." He continued on his fury growing. "As far as this conversation... only you'll remember is the depth of pain you felt when you traveled to Hell and the words I wish to leave with you. You will awaken inside the shell you call a body. You are a fool! Watch and learn boy!" Zues easily flipped his wrists and the words of Draken were wiped from the lads memory never to be known again.

He rose up and for a moment considered returning the man to his natural state. “I’ve been patient with you and I have done my best to consider your hide worth saving. I asked you what your decision would be and you did not answer me. Therefore I will take matters once more into my own hands.”

Zues rose up a great storm, wind whipped around the outside of the cave and he transported Raymond’s spirit to the outside of it. He then caused a great rumbling in the Earth and the cave inside began to shake. Rocks fell and the cave was surrounded in darkness, Avaline’s gift was ripped from Iolantha’s hands and within seconds all but Raymond were trapped inside.

With an upraised fist Zues slammed Raymond back into his body and roared at him. “I've healed you...save them or they die and it will be on your head. I will not interfere this time little man. You will have only yourself to blame. There is no way out of that cave and the mortals only have so much air. You’d best get busy... because time is of the essence. I suggest you start thinking about them and not yourself and the “Shit” I caused. You meddlesome humans are always pointing a finger... this mess now points to you.”

He stared back at the cave and he sensed the fear in the group. “Did you think that angering a God would protect them and only you would feel my wrath... you are a witless human. God’s strike at your weakest point... your heart. Now let us see if you have one!” Zues disappeared and left Raymond nothing, but his bare hands to save the people trapped inside, gone were the words of Avaline and her demise.

OOC: ((He's good, you have to admit. When it comes to playing an easily pissed off god, he's got the stuff. And lucky for him too if Draken had his full powers a cave in would easily be unblocked......darn odd ages. -_-; ))

Draken waited for a response from the shaken up Raven but none came for a few minutes. Just as he thought she was about to speak a violent tremmor shook the cave almost to the earth. Draken looked to the entrance and saw the tremmor caused a cave-in. "Great." He said sarcasticaly.

He rose to his feet and took a few steps towards the block of rocks. He summoned forth the Dragon Fang Blade Katana from the palm of his right hand and took his stance. ""Dragon Fang Wave!"" He swung the blade in an arc but nothing happened. ""Dragon Fang Wave!!"" He tried again with the same results. "Perfect......my powers have left me. I cant envoke the Dragon Fang Blade. What the hell are we supposed to do now?"

He walked back to Raven and sat down, wondering how much air they would have left in a such a shallow cave like this one.

Karl/Scytherin/Avaline/Lily // Germany 1942

As it was still early Karl checked the mansion finding everything in order he arranged for breakfast for himself and his friends to be served in his private dining room at nine the following morning. He still wasn’t sure if Avaline could eat food here but he knew the others would all be hungry by then. He also arranged with the cook to have travel rations for four to last a couple of days.

Having sorted breakfast, he wondered where Avaline would want to go once they were ready. He decided that the best thing to do would be to have his staff car prepared full of petrol and he would drive it himself rather than bring a driver into the mess they were in. Karl found his normal driver and explained what he wanted telling the man to have the car outside the front of the mansion by ten the following morning.

That would give them an hour to eat and discuss with Avaline where they should go, although he guessed it would be Berlin. Having arranged everything he could think of, and knowing he’d probably forgotten something he told a guard to give him a call at eight so he could wake the rest.

He then headed for bed himself, travelling though time appeared to really make people tired. It appeared that Karl had no sooner got into bed when he was being shaken by the guard, telling him it was eight o’clock.

“Come on it’s time to get up,” Karl told Scytherin as he shook him awake. “Breakfast will be ready shortly,” he added as he headed for the door. Once in the corridor he went to the door of his normal bedroom and knocked loudly, until he heard a call from inside.

“Breakfast will be ready in an hour,” he told the girls as he opened the door wide enough for them to hear him without shouting. He then returned to Scytherin and waited for the girls to appear so he could guide them to his dining room.

Wyn looked at Io shroweded in their cloaks and moved closer to her watching and listining to everything around them. She had wanted to run to Draken when he had entered the cave but had kept her distance simply glad to see that he was alive and well, but not seeing Richard behind him worried her, and that Raven was once again unconcious Was Raven alright?, and Richard Where was he?

Suddenly the cave begain shaking and the entrance was blocked, and Wyn looked to Io her expression one of worrie and fear. Draken and Raven would think they had at least a few hours of oxygen between them but they didnt know that Io and Wyn were with them and that would cut the air supply even shorter.

Then Wyn had an idea speaking mentaly with Io she said. Can you pull anything out of that pack like an oxygen tank that might give us more time? I know it would be weird for something like that to appear out of thin air but its no stranger than anything else we have come across right??? Its worth a try..

Avaline/Karl/Scytherin/Lily Germany1942

Avaline heard the words that woke her and she called out her thanks. She felt refreshed. The evil inside her seemed content to let the Goddess strengthen herself. This concerned Avaline, because she knew whatever was inside her would in time strike again and she would have to deal with it. For a moment she thought of seeking out the demon hunter and seeing if he knew how to rid herself of the evil without killing her, but she knew that Zues would have thought of that or at least would find a way to stop her from doing it. She sighed. When she saw Zues again, she was going to have to have a heart to heart with him and tell him he really was an ass.

She got up and opted to not use her magic and brushed out her hair just like a mortal woman would do. She did give Lily a bit of magic and soon there was a military skirt for her to wear that matched Avaline’s. Soon the women were both dressed and ready to present themselves to Karl.

Avaline had Lily follow her and she went in search of Karl. She found him outside the room that he and Scytherin slept in the night before and she smiled softly at him. “I appreciate your help with everything and I’m sure that this will be over soon. I just need to seek out Richard and the best way I believe in doing that is reaching this man Hitler. I need you to get us there.”

“Please let us all go to your room for the meal you all need. I will enjoy a light breakfast though it isn’t necessary, it will at least add to the illusional of my immortality. We can discuss more of my getting close to Hitler over our meal.”

It only took him an instant to get cleaned up and everything. He stood next to Karl as the ladies appeared from there nightly slumber, which he figured didn't go to well. He looked over at Karl and shook his head, letting his slightly long black hair wave a bit. So, what's for breakfest?

He cracked his neck, loosening his joints, making his body feel much better, he sighed and followed Karl through the halls until they reached the kitchen. This would be a very interesting home to live in and get lost in. Scy felt bad for the man, for if he was alone, this house would do him no good.

Lily stretched and rolled and stretched again. Finally she got up and made her way to the bathroom. Once she was finished taking care of her morning absolutions she returned to the bedroom and noticed the clothing that Avaline had left for her. She dressed and quickly followed Avaline out of the room. The gentleman appeared and as they made thier way down to the kitchens. She was a bit surprised by Karl's wealth. She wondered how many Jews had to die so he could sit up here on his ass and reap the rewards.

She kept her thoughts to herself though, Avaline needed the German and for some reason the silly Goddess thought he could be trusted. She knew she shouldn't judge him just because of his occupation... but she never did understand how a decent human being could be involved with Hitler and not do anything to help out... even in secret.

Her eyes traveled to the other man in their group. She couldn't believe he was here again. She wondered how much help he was going to be. He never was one to talk much, but he seemed to generally want to help the Goddess fix her screw up. Lily hoped he was for real, because after Avaline's confession of dieing last night and Scytherin's confession of having a power, she knew the Goddess would need to pull energy from all of them in order to save the World.

Karl/Avaline/Scytherin/Lily ~ Germany 1942

Karl Led them through the Mansion to the kitchen area and then into his private dining room. The cook had set a table for four, on the table where the things that would go as a good German breakfast. Ham, eggs, sausage, toast, bread and coffee. It wasn't until Karl saw the spread that it suddenly dawned on him he didn't know what these visitors from the future and America at that would expect for breakfast.

"Well there you are, I hope there's something that everybody can eat on the table," Karl said to the company as a whole.

As they sat down Karl helped himself to plenty of everything knowing that it might be a while before they ate properly again.

"Avaline, where do we need to go? My staff car will be outside in about an hour, I'll drive it so we don't drag somebody else into this mess," Karl asked Avaline and told her about the car.

"I asume you want to get to the Fuhrer, if we're not far in time from when we left he should still be in Berlin," Karl informed her.

OOC Not sure about the spelling of Furher Thanks Leopard Googled Fuhrer :D

What a baby. Were Raymond's last thoughts before the God carried out the rest of his hissy fit.

Memory altered, task at hand, Raymond began digging.

Gotta get them out. Only person who deserves going THERE is me.

And third times the charm.

He digged faster.

Jake returns to the room to find...nothing. No one is there. But he knows things are all fucked up and there has to be something here. Some way to be back at Lily's side. And a way to fuck up Scytherin. He hurt his sister. It's not a hot fury. It's a glacially cold fury. It's the kind of fury that people run from. He's calculating and in full possession of his thoughts.

There's no signs of struggle, of anything really. And no note. So Jake starts looking all around. He tears the room apart methodically til he comes across an on odd book. Usually he'd not even pause but across the top is printed "Arcana". It appears, on looking through it, to be about magic. He begins flipping through it on the thought that hey, everyone keeps talking about magic, gods, and goddesses. So the assumption seems fairly plausable that a book called Arcana, about magic, might be useful.

As he flips through he sees one particular spell. It is a gateway opener. It gives great detail on how to do it, but the results are not to specific far as Jake can tell. But from what he can gather...On the other side he'll be able to find his sister. And there will be some sort of test or another.

He doesn't really worry about it. Once again his sister has disappeared and in company with a person who hurt her. This is a very bad thing. So Jake says screw it. He continues to search the book but sees nothing that'll help right this second. So...He prepares the gate from materials around. It requires quite little. A drawing, a tiny bit of blood, and a desire.

He has all three in abundance. He says the spell, not thinking twice. As the last word is said he is sent through a gate that appears around him. He looks around on the other side. He sees...nothing at first. Then things start appearing. Five glowing orbs at firt. Then a man seeming to juggle them. He says to choose one, then no more even when Jake asks why he must choose and what will happen. Jake chooses. The blue ball is given and the man disappears. Jake is left with a ball of something that stays cool in his hands, almost cold, but not quite that is hard like ice, but very solid and not very fragile. He begins to walk. Or at least thinks he does. He is not sure. Other things start to appear. Some friendly. Some not. Some ordinary, some quite strange.

First he passes through a wood. Two thugs appears brandishing knives. They charge. Not knowing what it is Jake whips the blue thing at the one man, not seeing if it hits or not, already focused on the second. He quickly sends him to the ground. He punches the man, laying him out with the first blow. He turns to see about the other warily but to his surprise the man is a block of ice. He looks like a sculpture. Obviously no threat. He looks back down planning to get information from the second man but he has disappeared. The ice man is still there though as is the ball Jake was given, lying at the mans chest, touching there.

Jake walks over, taking the ball. It is ice cold. He feels the cold but it doesn't get too cold. At least to him. Soon as the ball is removed, the man disappears as well. Jake has a thought. He touches the ball to a nearby tree. He knows why the man turned to ice now as the tree does the same.

He continues on, new weapon in hand. He comes upon a scroll next as the scenery suddly changes to a long, paved way, like as in a temple. The scroll is on an alter, wth a pen next to it. On it is a riddle. The question was.
I can be hot or cold, new or old. I can be slow or fast, I can be one color, or many, at time I am all, or maybe none. I am big, I am small, sometimes I am not myself at all. I can flow free and unstoppable, slipping through cracks or solid as a wall.I give life, I give death, and some say...I started it all.

Jake thinks as he looks around. This is obviously part of the teast mentioned. He sees no way out. Then his attention is brought to his hand and the ball that rests in it. He has the answer then and so writes it. Ice. As the words are written a door opens. He walks through it into a desert kind of landscape. He quickly begins sweating walking at a decent pace but even in this place he remains cool, calculation, level headed like he always has.

Like as a child when all about him were angry, pissed even, he remained calm, and thought his way out of many situations. When friends would be about to blindly charge into a fight full of hot fury Jake held them no matter how pissed he was. He waited, planned, and like a glacier usually ended up winning, crushing those he went against. Through his childhood his nickname was ice man. For his cold logic and this way he had about him. Hitting him was like hitting a block of ice. It didnt do much. And when you finally did chip it you got shards stuck in you.

He keeps moving, spellbook in one hand, pulsing ball in the other. And it is pulsing now. The heat begins to be a bit much and jake wonders...Can he use this gift...Or whatever it is, to cool himself down? He tries it. The ball doesnt just cool is skinn though. It starts to disappear into his chest where he had touched with it. Just as he does though everything changes again and he is in his worst nightmare. There is Lily, surrounded by men, with her clothes being ripped to shreds and bound. He charges them, seeing no other way around it. There are no weapons in the room except the ball which has disappeared.

He takes out two from behind, cracking their skulls together with force enough to kill. That's about when he is noticed and charged. He let's fury build in him, uses it to his benefit. it gives strength, speed, and a touch that can kill. The next man he hits finds out the hard way. Jake channels his rage into the hit, a palm slamming into the man's chest. The guy ends up a stue of ice, almost instantaneously. The next hit shatters him. Jake was not expecting it and that's why the second his came. He doesnt stop in shock though. He coldly continues, knowing that in this place any rules could apply.

Each time he hits like that he notices a...surge...Go through him, seemingly more than just adrenaline, just blood. It's definately something to think about. The last man disappears. By this time Jake has moved rather far from where Lily lay. He turns back. He sees the old man who first presented him with a choice. Before Jake can do anything the man pulls a knife and slices her throat.

For the first time Jake totally loses it. Fury and pain consumes him. It slams over him like a tidal wave, swamping all thought. In that second his soul is bared. A hidden beast, never seen before, never needed is unleashed. His inner being takes form. It is a bit large than a man, and birdlike. Its main form appears to be an odd melding of water and ice, the eyes, beak and talons solid like a sculpture, the rest beginning as ice shards and water changing to take more of a flesh and bones, though still very odd. The thing beats its wings once and hundreds if needles fly from it at the man who killed Jake's love. Before they hit though all seems to fade. Jake hears a voice in his head.

Now you have seen what you always have hidden. You have seen your darkest fears and you will gain your greatest desire. Remember there is always a price. Leash your temper carefully. For now your ice is not only in your soul. But it can consume you, become you, and every touch, unguarded, has the ability to make them as you. Guard it well.

And with that...The world reappears around Jake. But instead of the apartment he left from Jake now lies at Lily's feet, feeling cold as ice but still breathing, still alive and temporarily unconscious.

Raymond, between a rock and a hardplace

Wincing in pain as he felt like his lower back was about to give out, Raymond let out a roar as he slowly pushed a large boulder out of the way. It rolled and crashed to the ground, sending up a choking cloud of dust. He wrapped his shirt around his face, and prepared to move another heavy rock out of the way.

I'll be damned if I'm used as a scapegoat.
