IC: Sabrina Allston and Faith Anne O'Connell
Autumn had come and the leaves of the trees were just turning their colors clothing them in yellows and oranges and reds. The air was getting crisp with first chills of cooler weather. Kids on campus were still playing games in the park at the heart of McLaren Christian university's campus. Between classes frisbees were being passed around between students, some were performing skateboarding tricks, or just chilling out with friends.
Sabrina sat leaning against the statue of the rich robber baron mother fucker back in the gilded age, John J. McLaren, that tried to show he wasn't just a greedy asshole by donating a boatload of money to this school back in the day. Never mind the fact that he raked in more than two or three dozen boatloads of money from his shady as shit business practices year after year after year in his life. So what was giving away one boatload of cash to appear like he was a bleeding heart and generous upstanding Christian gentleman to the world. The narcissistic bastard even got the ass-kissers to rename their school after him.
Beside her Faith Anne shook her head, "You shouldn't be leaning against that statue. It's against the rules." She pointed at the sign in the grass that decried that students should not do as Sabrina was doing. "Why do you always have to push these things?"
"I see a sign saying lay off the statue and it makes me wanna do the exact opposite to it." She sneered, "And for your information I'm not doing anything to Senor Money-pants, here. Not yet at least."
"Well you're not going to get the chance." She said, "We have philosophy class in a few minutes. So come on."
"Oh for the love of..." Sabrina trailed off getting back onto her feet and brushing off the grass from her skirt. As much as she put up the façade of being the constant rebellious and uninterested in classes she always showed up and without ever bothering to study maintained a perfect grade point average.
Unlike Faith Anne who had to study constantly to achieve her stellar grades.
They began to make their way over to their class when Sabrina looked over to her, "So have you decided what you're going to wear for the party tonight? If not I'd love to help you out. When I'm done all the boys there will be falling all over themselves to flirt with you."
"What," Faith Anne said shocked frantically shaking her head, "I'm not going to that party. You're the one that likes flirting with guys. If I go I'll just wind up in the corner alone again trying to look like I'm having a good time."
"Not with me around," Sabrina asserted with a cocky smile, "I'll be your wingman and all the guys there will be eating out of your hands thanks to me."
Of course as night came Faith Anne found herself at the party, in the corner, trying to appear interested in the potted plant there as Sabrina was dancing with her third or fourth guy. She sighed heavily watching her roommate effortlessly move from dance partner to dance partner.
Some things came easier to some people more than others, always had in her case.
"Hello," someone said beside her and Faith Anne jumped forty feet where she sat.
It was a boy...talking to her?
"Uhmm...hi," She said awkwardly. She was blushing so deeply she couldn't stand even looking the boy in the eyes.
And where was Sabrina now when Faith Anne needed her. Some wing man she was turning out to be.
She tried to look cool and said, "Uh,,,Can I help you?"
