Her shoulders and arms had long since gone numb, her wrists chaffed and raw from the cold steel shackles she hung from. It was damp and dark, her body shivering in the cage she was chained inside of. Head hung low, she kept her head closed as she hung there. She didn't understand why he'd chained her there... it wasn't like she would ever dare to run. No, indeed... even though he did not own her and she owed him no allegiance, she didn't run because one day she had faith that her master would return.

Lord Ian Regant had purchased her at auction only days after her village had been raided and she'd been captured to be made a slave. They'd intended her to be used for manual labor, not exotic enough to fetch a high price on the block as a pleasure slave. But Lord Regant had seen something within her, something no one else had or probably ever could. Their connection had been almost instant. It took only a few hours for him to convince her that fighting was not the way she wanted to spend their time together as he gentled her with soothing touches and soft words.

He promised her a good life of luxury in exchange for her loyalty, nothing more. Do as he asks and she will live a better life than she ever could have dared to dream of in her tiny village on the meager living her father had brought in as a blacksmith. They'd been happy... so very happy. He'd promised her the best of treatment, asking her only that she lay with him when he came to her, and she'd promised him a child if he so desired it of her. He'd been thrilled at the prospect, and had set to attempting to get her with child almost immediately. Joy... that's what their lives had been... pure joy.

And then the war came. Only months after her purchase date, another kingdom had begun to invade their lands from the north. Lord Regant's lands were in the south, but he owed the King his allegiance, and so was required to march his men north to defend the kingdom.

In his stead, his younger brother took over the care of his lands and people... as well as Jostlyn herself. Everyday he spent his time trying to overcome her unshakable loyalty to his older brother, to convince her to serve him and betray her master. She refused. He tried every method he could think of to win her over... Everything from gentling and codling, to convincing her that Ian was destined to die and would never return to her. Still she refused.

He beat her, whipped her, starved her... nothing worked. Finally, when he was sure she would not bend to his will, he decided that he would just take her when he wanted her, beat her when she fought, and keep her caged until her spirit broke.

Her once silky flaming auburn hair now hung in matted, dirty tangles around her sallow face, stretched eyelids drooping over a pair of once spirited blue eyes that were now instead filled with pain and longing. She missed him... gods, how she missed him. When he'd told her he was leaving, she was fearful that he wouldn't come back... but she never thought that being parted from him this long would hurt so badly. She was beginning to realize that she loved Lord Ian Regant... even if she could never tell him.

The idea behind this thread is that Jostlyn(my character) has been suffering the ill treatment of Ian's brother, Neal. She's pregnant with Neil's child, but neither she nor he are aware of said fact, and Ian has just returned home. Neal left Jostlyn in her cage in the dungeons of the keep, and this is where Ian returns to find her. The character of Neal can be npc'd if need be, or he can played as a secondary character by whoever chooses to take the part of Ian. The character of Ian is left largely up to the player, the only thing that is set in stone is that he cared/cares for Jostlyn on some level. The war could have changed him for the worst or for the better, that is largely up to the player who takes the part. Please PM me with any questions you have or your request to join the thread. I am looking for someone who can keep up with me in post length and quality, and preferably someone who can post at least once a day.

I remember a story in the news concerning an individual (and another who's wife helped him) who had built a dungon beneath his home in a remote location.

He had built it over a period of 5 years and had kept people imprisoned there for his own gratification.

Silence of the Lambs so to speak but without the skin removal.

There are so many possabilities. And it's not necessarily all one sided. The scenarios...we could make it a woman who owns the home and keeps men she met, brought home, called for pizza or ordered smething from CVS and waited for the FedEx guy.

Likewise...we could have a Husband and wife duo who kept mixed company.

Or perhaps take it from the pen-perspective.
Those kept inthe cages. What they dread, fear, desire, look foreward to in ways they cannot justify nor explain yet find themselves craving in this situation where logic dictates escape.

This correspondent is choosing to interpret Dr. Rhys-Maitland's comment as another example of friendly competition for a place in the annals of history, even with Dr Rhys-Maitland's present record of resorting to unconventional methods. As far as the finds themselves, this reporter has learned from initiated sources that the results yielded rival those of the famous ones at the Tomb of Tutankhamen by the late Lord Carnavon and the, if not late, then seriously delayed Mr Carter. This reporter will be most interested in the display which is scheduled for the day after tomorrow at Dr Rhys-Maitland's field headquarters here in the Valley of the Kings.

We're looking for at least two reasonably accomplished writers, both Brit and I favour longer replies with a generous helping of humour. This is a story of adventure, ancient curses, dashing gentlemen-heroes and Proper Ladies. Sexual content ahead although not the sole reason for writing it.

wanting to start a thread

Hi all –
I would like to start a thread – which will be my first. (yay!) I have been reading stories on Lit, but have only recently started coming to the bulletin board. Here are my thoughts.

Character: I would want a male to play someone strong, who takes a while to become intimate, and someone who is willing to put up with a strong, stubborn female (which would be me). Not younger than 27, and not older than 47 – nice wide range, don’t you think?

Writing: I want someone who has a reasonable knowledge of grammar and spelling (if you write: “he read threw the email before…”, you don’t want to reply). I want more than one long sentence, but it does not need to be a long reply with 5 paragraphs.

I am not sure what else one would want to know. Let me know if you have ideas, etc. I would want the story to include some head-banging and stepping on each other’s toes before developing into a sexual relationship.
