Saigon '68

They've come to kill the rooster

The year is 1968, the place is Saigon, and all hell is breaking loose. There are half a million American soldiers in Vietnam now, it is a time of great deeds, foul and fair. It also a time of madness, where lesser men are given charge of soldiers, let loose to run amuck in the countryside. Men pour liquid fire and carcinogens from the sky on the forests, helicopters hover over the bush like angels of dead, spitting fire and fury down on the people below and the nights are filled the relentless pounding of the big guns.

Charlie is everywhere, there is no meaningful respite, for every hour of uninterrupted sleep there are two filled with explosions and the cries of the wounded. Even Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam is not safe. There is no such thing as the “frontlines”, the entire country is a frontline.

I shall be playing Lieutenant Daniel “Webby” Webber, of the 82nd Airborne division. A man in his late 20s/ early 30s who has already served one tour of Vietnam in the earlier years of the way. When he returned from his first tour he was a broken man, he had seen things, done things, that he’d never be able to forgive himself for. His marriage fell apart, his wife barely knew the man who came back from the carnage. It is a tragic, but all too familiar story from that period of history. Daniel soon after lost himself to drugs and alcohol abuse, barely managing to pin down his job. Now he is back for a second tour, conscripted back into his old unit.

3rd Brigade of the 82nd has just been taken from the hairy action around Hue to defend the air base at Tan Son Nhut. Compared to the vicious urban fighting around Hue it’s practically a vacation. Daniel looks forward to enjoying some more R’n’R, amongst less strenuous work like buiding trenches and manning AAA guns.

Plus, the USO show is coming along and he’s not to shy away from making a few advances towards the pretty girls they get in to entertain the troops.


What do I need?

I need a female lead to play off my character. I am in fact open to a few possibilities. Either she could be a showgirl come to entertain the troops at the airbase, either an American or a native Vietnamese girl. The other option I had in mind was Daniel getting wounded in action and whisked away to a medical centre where he’d be ‘nursed’ back to ‘health’ by a donut dolly. That is a nurse, btw.

I’m looking for literate writers who are in it for the long haul. I want a real relationship to develop between our two characters, and while I LOVE gratuitous and hot sex scenes, there needs to be real emotions and character development put in.

A little familiarity with the Vietnam conflict would be preferred, but it’s not a requirement. Anyone who has seen films such as Platoon, Apocalypse now, Full Metal Jacket should have more than enough feeling for the setting.

Fertility Festival
A group of pagan gods get together for a party at the harvest, and have some fun with the local mortals in the process. Looking for gods, mortals, or anything in between. Set in in the greek era.

Dawn of Night OOC thread
Set in the world established by the phenomenal Blade movie series, this rpg explores Drake's interactions as he comes to grips with the modern era. I'm looking for any from the Talos clan, as well as some mortals, and maybe a couple of Nightstalkers. IC thread not up yet.

This idea comes from a dream fantasy

Karla has this dream about being abducted by this man and sold to a strange race of men.. they look like Tigers with the ability to talk and walk upright.

This race is down to four males and they are searching for fertile females to repopulate their dying numbers.

Raji is the eldest and Teru is his brother they tend to deal with traders and speak the languages of mortals. The Tigerians are skilled warriors and serve their gods that are elemental.. air, water, earth, steel, fire, electricity, stone, glass, and ice.

Ed had got into the pony business more by accident than design, he owned a large ranch but things had been going badly because his medical duties were causing him to miss things on the ranch. He was a fully qualified medical doctor and had been invited to a friends ranch on the other side of the country about eight years ago he was surprised when he saw that his friends ranch had been turned into a Pony Girl camp and his friend wanted Ed to give all the ponies a physical check up.

That was when he purchased his first pony Dani and she’d been with him ever since that day she was now fully trained, over the years he’d trained and sold ponies to various buyers so that at the moment he only had Dani on the ranch. It was getting close to the summer holiday season when there would be an influx of paying guests who would want to be pulled around in a cart by a pony and use the pony for recreational purposes. He didn’t think that Dani would be able to manage keeping all the guests happy without suffering although as a last resort he’d use her that way.

He’d put an advert in the National papers worded in such a way that the ponies wouldn’t realise what they were in for until they were all signed up and ready for training. He expected some girls to arrive of their own accord but others he expected to be the daughters of rich parents who wanted them training to stop the lifestyles they were heading into. There was still a couple of weeks before the resort opened to the paying guests and he’d had some phone calls from irate parents that wanted their daughters to learn humility.

We need ponies to train.
A couple of trainers can be male or female.
Visitors to enjoy the ponies.

Sizzling Sensations has taken a plot twist and may now have an opening for "the voice" or maybe even a visitor.

You just need to read the last five or six posts, as what happened before it seems to have been another world away.
