I checked over the FAQ's, and finding nothing here I go... although I'm hoping not to be a repeater anyway.

How do you check back on your posts to see if there have been replies? I have just been searching them out of the forums, but I'm hoping there is a time saving device somewhere around here. If anyone knows, your advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!

You can click on your own name and seach for your threads in your profile.

You can also have the system email you when there are new replies, either immediately or with a daily or weekly digest. If you want that for all of the threads you post to (unless you tell it otherwise when you post):
1)Click on the User CP link at the top of the page
2) Click on Edit Options on the left
3) Scroll down to Default Subscription Mode and select the option you want from the drop down box. If you select 'Instant Email Notification' you will be notified with at least the first new reply after you post to a thread.

If you want to change the option on a specific thread (say you're notified on all threads, but don't want to get an email for one of them), or you want to manage your subscriptions/notification options for each thread separately, you just select the Thread Subscription Notification type option you want from the drop-down box when you reply to any thread. It's near the bottom of the page, under the Submit Reply and Preview Post buttons, so keep scrolling down and you should see it.

When you reply to this thread, you can try it out. Select 'Instant Email Notification' or something, and you'll start getting emails when people reply.

Of course, if you don't like the option you select, you can change it by unsubscribing from the thread or replying to the thread and selecting a different option.

Infinity, thanks a million!

Erika... hey, that's EXACTLY what I was looking for!! Thank you so much! :)

You're very welcome! :)

So if you have email notification enabled for this thread or all threads, you should be able to read this in your inbox.:D

I get notification of new replies on the threads I post to automatically. That makes it easy for me to catch up on the threads quickly without visiting a bunch of different threads. If I see something worthwhile in my email, or I'm particularly interested in a certain thread, I'll visit the thread. If I think a thread will get a lot of replies I'm not interested in (usually this applies to threads on the General Board), I change the option before posting to that thread, so I'm subscribed to it (this puts a little icon next to it on the forum page so you can see what you've posted to easily, and puts it in your subscribed threads list in your user CP), but am not notified of new replies. So far, this has worked really well for me, so I haven't changed it since I've been here.

Ah, I thought I enabled it! I just came back to check. Let me try again! :)

If it's still not working: Did you enable it on this thread alone, or for all threads in your User CP Options?

If it's in the User CP, you might try logging out after you enable and save it (button for that is at the bottom of the Options page) and the logging back in. Let us know when that's done, and one of us will post so you can see if you got an email notification.

Also make sure Lit email isn't going into your SPAM folder or trash. With some email services, list/generic emails automatically get directed into there. I know many Yahoo users have had some serious trouble receiving email from lists lately, too...they either don't arrive or arrive several days later. Just two more reasons to use Gmail! :D
