Is it common to have the follow up questions for each thread written in present tense, despite the threads themselves being written in past tense?

I'm working on a story written in past tense, and for some reason I keep thinking of the questions and options as being present tense. That just comes naturally to me, and though I'm aware of some stories that are like that, I can't remember if it's something common among chyoo stories.

I'd say it's pretty to very common in general.
While the story is in past tense, the options which you present and the readers choose are always in the present, in some manner, which is why, I think, it seems more "natural" to write them like that.
That's my guess, anyways...
