I'd like to know your take on an issue I've struggling with. Why is it that some people on here are seeking something real yet don't wish to show their faces? It doesn't make sense to me how one can feel an emotional connection. Please share!

I have no clue.

I had an online/phone thing with a guy long ago, elsewhere and he refused to show me his face. He said he was ugly and he feared that I wouldn't like him if I knew what he looked like. He knew what I looked like.

When we finally met at the airport, I knew right away who he was. He looked like Steve Buscemi. I happen to have a thing for Steve so it worked out well for me.

Depending on what you are up to here, you could be outed and/or blackmailed...

It takes time to build trust with another person... also (and don’t take the the wrong way), you’ve only been here a month and have a grand total of three posts (two of which are today). People are rightfully suspicious of newbies until they’ve proven themselves... there are a lot of alts floating about...

AlliaPotestas, I agree with you! There are a lot of possible bad outcomes. You have no idea who/what you're dealing with.

I'm not sure when I'll ever show my face to anyone here. There is a lot of reasons why. Number one being I'm still new, I don't have that connection a lot of others have. I'm skittish of being burnt it's happened before.I was on a site similar not so long ago and people passed around pictures of others behind their backs with awful comments. Personally I'd rather be criticized over words on a screen then physical appearances.

they don't show because they don't want hubby to know or find out!
