Random thought's on modern femininity

Clawing away the layers of femininity as though they were restraints.

Keep the delicate flower from knowing her own plight.

Ignorance is bliss in a world filled with inequities.

A faceless dominatrix ignoring my screams.

which halves must we throw away to consitute a whole?

Just how stupid do you think I am to buy into your subordinate placement?

Modern femininity being equivalent to a social hermaphrodite.

Self awareness breeds frustration and ambivalence.

Your thoughts???

I think women maintain their feminity as they chose to.

A truly feminine woman cannot hide it behind a business suit and bitch red lipstick or douse it in a pair of dungarees, flannel shirt and chewing tobacco!

That poses the obvious question. What is femininity? Is it a subjective analysis?

Femininity is women - women fighting, women loving, women hating, women crying, women laughing, women hurting, women helping, women living - and women defy analysis.

I myself would agree with your statement. Femininity being merely a biological seperateion. However, do you agree that society as a whold sees the definition of femininity the same way we do? Does society have an imposed power ruled by differing opinions? Meaning, do others who think differently than us have any power over our lives, in which they use those opinions as determing factors?

Hmmm, I wouldn't go so far as to say femininity is merely a biological designation - I think it is partly biological, and partly social - just as gender itself is.

So yes, I certainly think that when society picks out certain traits labels them 'femininity', that can play a huge role in shaping who we are, and how we think of ourselves. I don't think any of us are free of societies influence, but we aren't determined by it either - I think social norms exert variable force depending on context.
