In homage and deference to the review threads of @DarkSollat and @burgwad, I was also inspired to share a thought or two.

To begin with I bit into one I felt was not too much to chew all at once, at 8 pages...

Game Night by @The_shadow_rising

I like the breezy opening. I briefly perused the first half page of House Party as well, and I begin to suspect there are neither beginnings nor endings in the city of Shorehaven. I can definitely appreciate that.

Game Night was a classic gang bang. Of course she's never swallowed or let anyone cum in her pussy; she never knew this before but she's actually been saving those milestones for tonight, when she will give them up, to--not her boyfriend, not just another man, but rather, five of her boyfriend's friends and co-workers--including his hated rival--whose cum she will blatantly drink in front of him by the end of the evening. Her dawning realization she was going to fuck all five of them, when she finished the first one after a long and overwhelming fucking, and then looked over and saw the next one ready for his turn, was one of my favorite moments.

Now, I've not been a huge fan of cuckold stories that focus on humiliating and degrading the husband, having him be the POV character and wallowing in his misery, making him watch and serve, putting him in a chastity cage, that kind of thing. But the way this story absolutely reveled in dragging Gerrie through the mud, without him ever realizing it was happening, that was a joy to read, especially after him being such a brat. It was a humiliation that every other person could see, but the story wasn't about him crying and asking her "Why" and crap like that. It was about everyone in the know just... enjoying what they knew, while he was oblivious to the very obvious signs all around like her jeans and panties on the floor while she was upstairs with his best friend, fucking him loudly in sight of her boyfriend, and, of course, the wine glass of her boyfriend's rival's cum which she drank down slowly and noisily right in front of him. It just didn't occur to him that something like that could be going on, so he was deliciously blind to what was right in front of his face. Or, was he acting oblivious, acting like he didn't get what was going on, to save his pride? When she was crying out loud enough for the neighbors to hear and he was downstairs, and he bought that it was someone else?

There were a few audible chuckles from me reading this. Overall it was light and fun, but a few times it was over the top in a good way -- "her tits, barely constrained by her tight top, were being squeezed mercilessly, while a big naked cock that was not her boyfriend's, but her boyfriend's friend, was being shoved repeatedly into her clinging, deep pussy" was great.

Will have to read this one

8 pages is a good length to swallow...
...wait, what were we talking about?

I have a soft spot for Game Night. I feel it's one of Shadow's weaker stories (I feel the short length works against it with so many characters involved), but it also has some awesome little moments and one great 'villain' in the form of Ian. It's a rare example of multiple sex partners in a Shorehaven tale (only Valestock Chapters 2 and 4 have other examples), and I'm a sucker for a story of someone fucking one person after another in quick succession (or over a day).

The sex scene between Kelly and Lee also ends with a great example of ejaculation in multiple orifices within the span of a single orgasm, where Lee first cums inside her, then pulls out, shoots his load all over her, then finishes with dumping a load down her throat (another great example of this is the end of Confi's Going Too Far).

The wine glass of cum was a great ending, and I didn't think it that strange that Gerrie didn't notice; especially in the Shadowverse/Shorehaven (anyone had Disaronno Velvet?)

Thanks Dark, I'd like to drop by yours with a RLD review at some point! I am working on Sordid as we speak.

Looking forward to it!

I'm glad that you enjoyed the story, and am honoured that you took the time to write such a great review! Thank you.

That is an old story now, is there any reason you chose it specifically?

Looking forward to what you have to write about RLD's stories. Keep reading and writing!

LOL I forgot all of a sudden!

Well me too, since you mentioned it...

I'd read that one some years ago and favorited it. I may have been scared off by the, er, length of some of your others back then... But Dark's reviews of RLD and mentions of your stuff got me interested in taking some of them on. Working my way up to Perils, after that sex montage discussion! So I was looking for a good entry point and happily rediscovered this little gem.

I deserve neither homage nor deference. I'm running way behind on my reviews. But thank you all the same. 😘

And I am way behind on reading all the pieces you talked about that sounded interesting! My to-read list is cresting 300...

Into the Dog House by @ofbuttons

This one jumped my read queue; I saw your story review in AwkwardMD and Omenainen's thread and thought, I'll check that out for a second. When my head cleared I looked down and saw I was at the end of chapter 6! Hope you don't mind if I add to their thoughts on it...

At first I really recoiled from a lot of what was happening in this story, but it was so compelling, I had to read all 6 chapters. I mean I'm reading, and going "I hate this!", but my heart was beating fast and I was dying to know what was going to happen. And then, as I kept going, things kind of normalized for me. Like, though I was still uncomfortable with the *idea* of what I was reading, I ended up starting to *like* reading about it. It was kind of thrilling, and at the same time kind of disturbing. But all in all it's kind of like what seems to be happening with Greg; a gradual acceptance, not an enthusiastic embrace, exactly, but a slow realization that yes, even this bizarre situation is arousing and in some ways pleasurable, despite all the unpleasant aspects. I even found myself wondering what the damn thing would be like to have on, just for a second, despite my visceral near-horror at the idea, as if your story is conditioning me, the reader, to accept something I never would have wanted, like Rachel is doing to Greg; get out of my head with that!

In some ways this is a reversal of the typical raped until she likes it story. *If* he ends up liking and actually wanting it. So far he's getting turned on and aroused by what he's doing, sure, but he seems to actively hate it. She insists, and seems to believe, that he loves it, but what he truly seems to love is any contact from her. It seems like what he would really love is for her to just have normal sex with him. But he's so desperate for anything from her that he'll go along with all this in hopes of some sex at the end of it. In a way he does begin with a dog-like characteristic - his slavish devotion to her. And it's that that allows the rest of the dog stuff to happen; he keeps thinking I'll just do this little thing for her, and then this little thing; where if he stood up and refused he wouldn't be in his current predicament, but perhaps also would end his marriage.

She seems to think, or want to tell herself, or maybe only want to convince him, depending on what we think of her inner state, that she's doing this for his pleasure, but it seems clear that it is for hers. He didn't ask to eat cold leftovers off the floor, never be able to talk, etc. But he keeps accepting these steps out of slavish dog-like loyalty to her and hope that she'll love him back. And if he ends up sort of succumbing and agreeing that he actually likes it eventually, it seems almost like a kind of Stockholm syndrome. Like she converted him to that state through psychological manipulation, prolonged torture, mind washing.

At its core it's a gender reversal of the typical female rape fantasy - victim is violated against their will, but they experience so much pleasure they come to want it to go on. Still, there are differences. In a typical rape fantasy the victim is overwhelmed with pleasure and uncontrollable orgasms until they can't take it and give in to their primal needs and embrace the assault. It's the kind of fantasy the male can imagine being on the victim's side of. I can imagine enjoying being forced to have sex with one or more beautiful women until I can't resist orgasming over and over. That's Death by Snu Snu.

This story on the other hand is trying to find ways to make the victim enjoy what seem to be inherently unpleasant experiences, with minimal orgasmic rewards. He's being violated with unwanted invasive chastity, instead of with unwanted invasive sex. I feel like usually if someone is subordinate to a master, they're getting something out of it; they may be humiliated, embarrassed, they may go through some pain, but they're experiencing some kind of pleasure as well. It seems like in this story there is just more humiliation and dehumanization, more long-term inability to speak, use hands, eat good food, experience normal physiological functions, etc. And he's not so much getting something out of it, as hoping to eventually, and I have my doubts that he will. That's not a criticism; that's what it seems like this story is going for; I'm guessing Greg will embrace and actively desire his dehumanization by the end. In some ways it reminds me of a hu-cow scenario, although more psychologically, not with the body transmogrification. I mean I like Greg, I empathize with his desire to get his wife to be interested in him; I'd like to see things get better for him. But I fear the opposite will happen.

So now I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter of a story about a kink that kind of horrifies me!

I discovered your review upon trying to see if there was anything else I'd missed after my unexpected vanishment -- and I wanted to say, thank you so much for reading and writing it, and apologies it's taken this long for me to find your words (and continue the series!).

Whether it's someone's cup of tea or not, your identification of the elements I want to engage with, that I find interesting, and that you've articulated back to me way more skillfully than I might have been able to if I were trying to explain it are extremely affirming, even if you're not sure if it's for you. If you do continue reading, I hope you find something satisfactory wherever it leads.

Thanks for taking the time, and please know it's appreciated. :)

I'm glad my criticism didn't drive you away for a year! j/k!

But seriously, I was glad to see your return and eagerly read the new chapter. I've been converted! Well maybe not quite but I like the story :)
