....are not supposed to be refilled. In fact a warning has been issued.

The plastic leaches carcinogens. I am an habitual refiller. Ugh!

I've gotta think that more nasty things leach into it the first time as the water sits ont eh shelf than at any time following when you fill, then drink relatively soon thereafter.

The plastic is in a process of breaking down over time. The longer it's kept - and refilled - the more dangerous it gets. Mines atleast a year old.

Holy crap!

Yeah, I think that's a bit excessive. I don't keep one on my desk for more than a few weeks at a time!

You're kidding me. I have 2 bottles that I keep refilled in the fridge at all times for when I get thirsty. Whoops

Why not use a glass? ... or a glass bottle if you into them bottles

I'm getting some sports bottles designed to be refilled. Glass is too heavy.

Glass of any kind is a bad idea on my desk as it is knocked over quite often.

nomeopathic and naturualpathic doctors recoomend it is safe to reuse plastic bottles like soda bottles for 4 months without worry of carcinigin poisoning or contamination of severity.

they do recommend, if you are worried about the carcingin in your body to take a sload of Iodine tablets or iodine based food{dulse etc}for a week.

If you are using the big water bottles like office water bottle sized bottles. check your supplier some companies are aware and produce the bottles without as heavy a carcinigin load some with out.

same worrys hold true for plastic cling wraps, tupperware dishes etc. not only carcinigins but nonal phenals.

Todd,

What about my Nalgene water bottles? I have two of them, one about 3 years old, one more than 6 years old. I use them for camping but also throughout the year. I think they are medical grade plastic so safe but maybe you know more.

honestly, i don't know I will have to look into it, and my naturapathy and homeopathy library is away for 10 days, i will do some digging arouind the net though.

Todd,

Dont worry aboutt it if you dont know. Ill have to poke around and see if they are cool. I assume so considering the cost of them and the quality of materials but perhaps I am wrong.

Thanks.

Jesus.

It's all a ploy to get you to continue pouring money down the drain spending $1.50+ for a bottle of fucking water.

Remember, "Evian" spelled backwards is "naive."

I just read of a study of kids in elementary school who refill the bottles. They say the bacteria they found in their bottles was at toxic levels, levels that would shut down the city water supply if it was the water. The reasons were that kids don't wash the bottles often enough and let them dry, and that they tend not to wash their hands all the time when they should be (ie before eating, after bathroom ect). This is completely different from carcinogens but thought I would bring it up. This study was done in my city and is legit.

Holy crapweasel! I've had my bottle since Easter!

Shit, next they'll be telling us cotton is a carcinogen.
