Hi all


I'm new here, this is my first post, I have a question so here we go...



I have been going out with my girlfriend for several months (going on 6) and we been talking of her getting a Thong. She has never worn one before and is hesitant to because she thinks itll be uncomfortable, etc...


anything I can say or do to help persuade her? she said she may one of these days, but I cant wait THAT long, im only human!

Gee, all I wear are thongs... or nothing. On the practical side, they don't give you panty lines (faboo under these pollyester fashions) and they also give you great shape (thongs seperates to the cheeks to give you two definitive mounds). Get her started on one that has a bit more strip in the back - not one of those dental floss ones. They don't crawl up as much. Better yet, get her a bra and thong set. A girl can't resist matching pieces of lingerie. Well, at least I can't.

I've converted a few of my friends to thongs, you'll find that once she wears one for a bit she won't want to wear anything else. They are just so much more comfortable than normal panties.

I agree with pinklipstick though, get her one with a bit more fabric rather than an elastic type thong...and a matching set is a great idea!

I used to be the same way...until I became a cheerleader in high school(what's more embarrassing in high school then your panties peaking out from under those short skirts?) Now I wear nothing but thongs, bikinis are just too uncomfortable for me. If there's a Fredericks of Hollywood near you I would suggest getting a pair from there. That's the only place I'll buy my thongs, and they have a wide variety of styles. I've never bought one from there that I didn't like. Hope she trys one, I'm sure once she does she'll wonder why she didn't sooner.

Thongs are very comfortable if they fit right! There's nothing better than wearing a sexy set of lingerie (you should never wear anything that doesn't match!), under a business suit to me. Get her a matching set and ask her to wear it under a pretty dress when you go out. She should feel very sexy and you will reap the benefits!

Anyway - I'm going to shamelessly promote going to Victoria Secrets because they fit better and their quality is better. I should own stock in that company! No offense to anyone else -just my own humble opinion!

For underwear, she pretty much shops ONLY at Victoria's Secret, so thatll be our best bet. Thanks for all the ideas and we'll see how it goes

Hope I'm not too late to suggest something. Instead of buying her a thong and then asking her to wear it, perhaps for an entire evening, why not just ask her to wear one during foreplay?

For me, thongs are not my favorite, but I will wear them under some clothing for the sake of how they look. Definitely not for the way they feel. Yet, I have no difficulty changing into a pair just before getting close if I know it's really going to turn on my S/O.

I would suggest easing into them. Wear them for a limited time at first. Then, who knows? Maybe she'll think they're great and wear them all the time.

her and I have been talking about it more and mroe lately, and she has agreed to try it, its just actually getting past thinking about how itll feel, etc... and actually just trying it.

I had to get used to a thong gradually...they do feel wierd at first. But I agree with the cute matching lingerie strategy...I can't resist a cute one either. Or something like a white lace thong...I love mine...it's both naughty and nice at the same time...very sexy.

My girlfriend never wore one before we started dating and I was in a similar situation to you. I bought a nice baby doll lingerie set and she wore it and complained that it made her feel like she had a wedgie the whole time. She still wore it though and eventually she liked it.

Then, she bought one to wear under a skirt and bought a few more for tight pants, etc.. and she hasn't gone back to regular since...

Now, she only wears thongs and has commented that anything else feels like she's wearing diapers.

I want to second SexyChele's warning and say that despite all the stories here, you can't count on converting your girlfriend to thongs. Not every woman who wears them once decides she loves them and never wants to go back, despite all the testimonials here. Be a little flexible about it if it stays a special occasion item for her (and you).

It can feel like that at first...but once you allow yourself time to get used to them, they get to be very comfortable.

Just to add my opinion...and if it doesn't make any sense, please consider the bottle of wine i just consumed.

Anyway, I am a Frederick's of Hollywood employee, and have been for over a year. My recommendation is to get a cotton g-string. It does not have the elastic properties, but is much less material than is used in a standard thong. Most females (and males) prefer this method of getting used to having "a sting up their butt". Just something to consider. . . To let you know, FOH has the most comforable thongs, but some do prefer Victoria's Secret. And also. . . if you are unsure as to whether she will actually wear them, go to Walmart or Target to get her first pair...they are all made by the same companies!!! They only change the name that is sewn into them!!!

just a thought

A thong, even a VS one, will only cost about $12. She said she's interested ... take her shopping ... pick one out ... and she'll wear it. If she hates it immediately, she can take it off. If it's ok, she'll get used to it and form an opinion. Maybe she'll love it. It's not like you're trying to talk her into buying a Ferrari that she might hate but be stuck with ... it's just underwear. And it does (and hopefully) comes off.
Just my own opinion, underwear all feels the same, the material makes the only difference. I don't feel anything when I wear bikinis, I don't feel anything when I wear thongs. It's just there.

Maybe she'd be more willing to do it if you offered her something in exchange. I'm sure she has one or two fantasies/desires that you could indulge in exchange for her wearing a thong. Offer to do something for her.... bathe her.... eat her out... give her a personal strip show .....

used to absolutely hate the bloody things. I experimented with diffrent styles until I found a few that I can tolerate, but I still am not convinced they are exactly comfortable, just acceptable. They do look pretty rockin', I must say, and no worry about panty lines.

well, I have some great news to reply with!


I took her Cedar Point today (I live in SE Michigan, drove down for the day) and just got home, we talked about it A LOT there...


well, she is going to do it. I spent a lot of time just telling her how attractive she is, etc... and all the good things about wearing em, and how great she'd look in one, and we did reach somewhat of a comprimise...

In turn for her buying/trying thong(s), I am now required to buy more pairs of Silk Boxers. Which I'm not complaining about
