I think that Western societies have moved well beyond some of their past, and the laws and most whites no longer discriminate against people of colour.

But there are other subtle ways in which white privilege manifests itself.

For example - from my experience as being both white and a female immigrant -and contrary to what Western feminists claim- , I can say that I was in the best position.
If I ever came across xenophobes or racists, I was generally at the bottom of their list as a potential target. (to be either picked on, or looked at in 'That' way.)

Anyway. I think that racism and white privilege shouldn't be conflated.

What I know is that -at the level of everyday interactions, as laypeople-
a white person is treated with a bit more warmth by a white person in a predominantly white country (because they are similar to them), and is a bit more likely to be given a pass for the same mistake. All of which happens on a subconscious level.

I'm sure that the reverse happens too, in predominantly non-White countries.
