THis Week in Congress

Pelosi: Barr, Pompeo, Giuliani are Trump's 'henchmen' who have 'gone rogue'

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday ripped top officials in President Trump’s Cabinet and his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, saying they went "rogue” in aiding the president in his controversial dealings with Ukraine, sources said.

On a private conference call with rank-and-file House Democrats, Pelosi singled out Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Giuliani, calling them the president’s “henchmen” who carried out Trump's orders and are helping him obstruct the Democrats’ impeachment investigation.

“Barr, Pompeo and Giuliani are henchmen. They have gone rogue,” Pelosi said on the call, according to two Democratic sources who listened in.

Congressional Democrats want Barr to testify after the revelation that Trump specifically mentioned the attorney general in a July 25 call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky during which the president pressed Zelensky to investigate Trump's chief Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Schiff: Trump administration stonewalling will be taken as evidence of obstruction

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that efforts by the Trump administration to stymie the House's impeachment inquiry will be taken as evidence of obstruction of justice.

“We are concerned that the White House will attempt to stonewall our investigation," Schiff said during a joint press conference with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

“Any action like that, that forces us to litigate, or have to consider litigation, will be considered further evidence of obstruction of justice.”

House Democrats formally launched an impeachment inquiry last week after details emerged of a phone call in which Trump pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading 2020 presidential candidate, and Biden's son, Hunter Biden.

:D

Pelosi rebuts GOP call to end Trump impeachment inquiry

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) shot down House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) call for Democrats to suspend the impeachment inquiry, noting in a written response that President Trump hours earlier had publicly asked China to investigate one of his political rivals, former Vice President Joe Biden.

“As you know, our Founders were specifically intent on ensuring that foreign entities did not undermine the integrity of our elections," Pelosi wrote to McCarthy.

"I received your letter this morning shortly after the world witnessed President Trump on national television asking yet another foreign power to interfere in the upcoming 2020 elections,” she continued. “We hope you and other Republicans share our commitment to following the facts, upholding the Constitution, protecting our national security, and defending the integrity of our elections at such a serious moment in our nation’s history.”

Pelosi also wrote in her letter that there is not a requirement under the Constitution or House rules, or under House precedent, that the House hold a vote before proceeding with an impeachment inquiry.

McCarthy earlier on Thursday had argued the inquiry should not move forward without members establishing “equitable rules and procedures.”

Nasty Nancy fuck upa Trump Chump! :D:D:D:D:D

Sasse breaks with Trump's call for probe: 'Americans don't look to Chinese commies for the truth'

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) pushed back strongly on Thursday night against President Trump's suggestion that the Chinese government investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

"Hold up: Americans don’t look to Chinese commies for the truth. If the Biden kid broke laws by selling his name to Beijing, that’s a matter for American courts, not communist tyrants running torture camps," Sasse said in a statement to the Omaha World-Herald.

A spokesman for Sasse didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sasse's remarks mark the strongest pushback from a Senate Republican since Trump on Thursday publicly encouraged Ukraine and China should look into the Bidens.

Trumpski is eroding his support in the Senate.:)

With just a year to go before the election maybe the Democrats should shift gears and attack the Rethuglicunts instead of the PeeResident, while keeping the Impeachment Inquiry open.

Making the Rethuglicunts realize the Trumpisim is a path to dis-election will further erode Senate support of Orangezilla!:)
Example:

Angry voter confronts Republican senator for supporting Trump amid Ukraine scandal: ‘You still stand there silent’

Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, who is seeking reelection in 2020, finds herself in a difficult position. Ernst is a GOP incumbent in a swing state that went to President Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 but to President Donald Trump in 2016 — and she needs those swing voters but is also fearful of offending notoriously thin-skinned Trump supporters. Ernst’s political challenges were illustrated this week at a townhall event in Templeton, Iowa, when she was confronted by an angry voter, Amy Haskins, who was clearly outraged over the Ukraine scandal.

Keep slapping them with tacit corruption lines!:)

McConnell tightlipped as impeachment furor grows

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is keeping a low profile amid the growing impeachment battle surrounding the White House over President Trump’s political dealings with foreign governments.

McConnell made news in the first days of the two-week congressional recess, when he said he would have “no choice” but to move impeachment if the House sends over articles.

Since then, however, he’s largely gone quiet, turning his attention to issues like opioid funding, getting money for Fort Campbell and judicial nominations.

Moscow Mitch's ass is puckered by the fact that Rethuglicunts may end up paying the price in 2020!

#85 above.
I think history will prove you wrong.

The trump administration will be held up as a lesson on how easy a democratic constitutional republic with a long history of internationally championing the cause of freedom and liberty in the world can be turned into a shithole by a few bad men pursuing their personal self interest.

The ‘Serious’ Senate Republicans Chiding Trump Are Profiles in Chickenshit

Trump broke something in them, something deep and fundamental. He numbed not only their prior commitment to conservative principles but even their very instinct for survival.

It took almost three years for a meaningful number of Senate Republicans to discover something obvious to even the weakest intellect: that this president’s lifelong addiction to having his palm and ego (and Lord knows what else) greased would lead him to betray anyone and everything.

As Turkish forces roll into Kurdish Rojava, these shallow solons are just-asking: Who could have possibly foreseen that a rage-fueled sociopath with a comic-book-level understanding of the world would be easily manipulated into making America a willing collaborator in the genocide of a loyal, pro-American ally?

Everyone, you dolts.

Set aside the weird, small cadre of Trumpist True Believers; they’re mainly just mental bottom feeders who take Trump literally, seriously, and in any orifice he chooses. Leave out the cohort of Republicans who live—if you can call it that—in constant terror of Trump’s tweeted wrath. Those pitiful worms grovel and scrape, secretly seething but lacking the necessary moral fortitude to stand up to his grunting yokel Boomer army and the bellowing agitporn of Fox News hosts.

They’ve been on even shakier ground than usual since the beginning of the Ukraine imbroglio, with many quietly whispering, “Oh, shit. Did he just do that?” You’ll notice how many of them suddenly lost the ability to read when the call transcript emerged, and how as the initial whistleblower’s claims have been validated by more witnesses and documents, they’ve become either raging conspiracy whackjobs or mutes

No wonder Congress has such sucky approval numbers, the House manned by slothful Democrats and the Senate by whimpering sycophants.

GOP giving up trying to reclaim House seats as 2020 wipeout looms

Faced with a ticket likely headed by an unpopular president and watching the Democrats rake in campaign cash ahead of the 2020 election, the Republican Party is conceding they will not win back the House by reclaiming seats they lost in the so-called 2018 “blue wave” election.

According to a report from Politico, Democratic candidates have been stockpiling massive amounts of cash to wage war in what is expected to be a high turnout election with Donald Trump as the face of the Republican Party and seats that the GOP thought they might have a shot at now appearing unattainable.

According to Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA), it may already be too late for the Republicans who have a lot going against them.

“A lot of them [Democratic nominees] are again building up such strong races that it’s possible they won’t get a competitive candidate,” he stated, before asserting, “We can take them off the playing field.”

Yea! Ami, my congress critter got quoted in the News! This is the first time I've seen him quoted in the news!

On to taking the Senate decisively as well. That's no less important than taking the White House.

Is The DCCC Blacklist Backfiring?

A reminder: As soon as Blue Dog/New Dem Cheri Bustos grabbed the DCCC chair for herself, she instituted an aggressive new policy aimed at progressives challenging Blue Dogs and New Dems (like herself).

Bustos officially declared that any campaign consultants, vendors, polling firms, strategists or operatives who worked for a campaign running against an incumbent would be blacklisted by the DCCC. (It’s worth noting that several dozen current members of Congress, including some who demanded the action from Bustos– like Henry Cuellar– were originally elected by challenging incumbents.)

The Chair immediately went on the offensive against Marie Newman’s campaign in a Chicagoland district occupied by anti-Choice, anti-gay, anti-healthcare, anti-immigrant, (face it, Anti-Woman) Blue Dog Dan Lipinski, one of the worst Democrats in Congress. Marie nearly beat him in 2018 when close to a million dollars in right wing sewer money– including from the Murdoch family– flooded into the district in a smear campaign orchestrated by Mark Penn and his wife Nancy Jacobson of No Labels. Perfect Cheri Bustos accomplices!

Several of these conservative incumbents have been so frightened by their own constituents that they’ve signed on as co-sponsors to legislation they have never backed. It’s almost comical to watch. Almost.

WTF?

Republicans’ laughable effort to attack Adam Schiff lands with a thud

Republicans’ effort to castigate California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee spearheading the impeachment inquiry, met a quick and sudden defeat on Monday in a vote of 218-185.

Spurred on by President Donald Trump’s attacks on the chairman, GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy led an effort to censure Schiff on the House floor. On what grounds? It’s almost too absurd to make up: lying.

McCarthy, was Joe you grandfather?

‘Do us a favor’: 4-page Pelosi fact sheet uses Trump’s own words to make case for impeachment

As House Democrats work to make the case for impeachment to the U.S. public, Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday released a four-page fact sheet outlining how President Donald Trump “betrayed his oath of office” for personal gain by pressuring Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden.

The document’s three sections—titled “The Shakedown,” “The Pressure Campaign,” and “The Cover Up”—use the words of Trump and members of his administration to build a cumulative case that the president has abused his power and should be impeached.

:D

‘Horde of clueless angry white men’: Internet mocks Matt Gaetz for leading a raid on a secure impeachment hearing

On Wednesday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led a gang of two dozen conservative lawmakers as they barged into a classified evidence meeting in the impeachment proceeding against President Donald Trump.

Gaetz — who is not a member of the Intelligence Committee but has demanded the right to review sensitive evidence as if he is one — received scorn from commenters on social media for his stunt:

Republicans commit ‘significant breach’ after storming closed-door hearings by bringing cellphones to secure area

‘Pathetic’ GOP lawmakers stall impeachment hearing by eating pizza in secure conference room

Several hours later, the lawmakers were still entrenched in the conference room eating pizza. Democrats said that impeachment hearings were stalled because of it.

House Homeland Security chairman directs sergeant at arms to ‘take action’ against Republicans who raided SCIF

I suggest "30 Days in the hole" for all of those sister fuckers!:)

Judge rules DOJ must turn over Mueller grand jury material to House Democrats

A federal judge on Friday ruled that the Justice Department must turn over former special counsel Robert Mueller's grand jury evidence to the House Judiciary Committee, a groundbreaking victory for Democrats in their effort to investigate whether President Donald Trump should be impeached for obstructing the long-running Russia probe.

In a double victory for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Judge Beryl Howell — the chief federal judge in Washington — ruled that the impeachment inquiry Democrats have launched is valid even though the House hasn't taken a formal vote on it. The decision rejects arguments by DOJ and congressional Republicans that a formal vote is necessary to launch impeachment proceedings.

"Even in cases of presidential impeachment, a House resolution has never, in fact, been required to begin an impeachment inquiry," Howell determined, dismissing GOP arguments as unsupported.

So, cough up the goods ass holes! :D:D

Lindsey Graham says vote on impeachment won’t matter anyway

‘Pelosi has the goods’: Ex-Obama lawyer calls Trump’s impeachment case ‘gravy’

‘A very powerful case against the president’: How Adam Schiff wants to use Trump’s obstruction against him

On Monday, California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff — the chair of the House Intelligence Committee leading the inquiry — explained that he’s not going to allow the President Donald Trump’s obstruction to slow the proceedings. Instead, he’s going to take the refusal to comply with the inquiry as evidence of Trump’s obstruction, which is expected to constitute its own article of impeachment.

His announcement came in the face of former Deputy National Security Adviser Charles Kupperman’s defiance of a congressional subpoena. Kupperman, ordered not to testify by the administration, has filed a lawsuit seeking to adjudicate whether he must comply with the subpoena.

Schiff disparaged this move, saying, “A private citizen cannot sue the Congress to avoid coming in when they are served a lawful subpoena.”

Now Nancy and Adam have the goods, provided by his Dumbness, they can parade the witnesses thru the Hearings Phase and rub Trumpski's nose in his own lies for the Common Folk!

Court of Appeals issues emergency order blocking Congress from obtaining Mueller grand jury documents

The DC Circuit Court of Appeals issued an emergency order on Tuesday blocking Congress from obtaining grand jury materials from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

The order was issued by a three-judge panel, all of whom were appointed by President Barack Obama.

A federal judge had ordered the release of the material to the House Judiciary Committee, but the stay from the Appeals Court will block that order pending appeal from the Department of Justice.

DOJ will file an appeal, someday, in the mean time Congress can go suck it!

To recap, the “whistleblower”:

*is a Democrat
*worked with Biden
*worked with two of Schiff’s staffers
*coordinated his complaint with Schiff’s team
*hired a Hillary/Schumer lawyer who also donated to Biden

*Every deposition and all testimony has been held in secret.
*The whistleblower is now asking 'not' to testify.
*The House of Representatives has not held an impeachment vote, despite having the numbers to pass it.
*President of Ukraine has indicated there was no pressure or Quid Pro Quo.
*Adam Schiff lied in his opening statement. Lied all during the Russia investigation, and continues to leak information that only supports the left-wing narrative.

To date...no one has identified either a specific crime or a specific misdemeanor that Trump has committed that would justify Impeachment. They just shout 'obstruction', 'emoulments', 'hate speech'...whatever term du joure pops into their head.

Note: Refusing to comply with congress...isn't a crime and presidents have been doing that since the country was founded.

Democrats can always sue the Trump Administration...if they want, but they obviously don't. The impeachment circus is just to satisfy their base...and from the comments on this board...it's working.

When hate is your default emotion and motivating factor....the left always has to be mad about something. It's the only thing that brings their voters to the polls.
Dirty Donny and Moscow Mitch must be proud of you .

Dirty Donny and Moscow Mitch must be proud of you .

Probably not. They just used the slimy toad for their purposes and tossed him aside, not giving him any more respect that anyone else should.

‘At the direction of the president’
: Read Volker aide Christopher Anderson’s opening statement ahead of impeachment inquiry testimony

Like Catherine Croft, former diplomat Christopher Anderson worked for the US envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker and is scheduled to testify Wednesday before the House impeachment inquiry .

In his opening statement (in full below), Anderson says that White House senior officials blocked State Department officials from condemning Russia’s November 2018 action in Ukraine.

Another brick in the monument of Trumpski's "unmatched WIsdom". AKA, charges of corruption!

Russia ambassador nominee confirms in open hearing Giuliani ran smear campaign against impeachment witness

President Donald Trump’s nominee for ambassador to Russia confirmed on Wednesday that Rudy Giuliani was at the center of a smear campaign in the State Department against then-U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, who has become an important impeachment witness.

“My knowledge in the spring and summer of this year about Mr. Giuliani was in connection with a campaign against our ambassador to Ukraine,” John Sullivan revealed to Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) at a Senate foreign relations hearing.

Sullivan said that he was also given a package of disinformation that was being circulated in the State Department to smear Yovanovitch. He indicated that the package originated from someone in the White House.

Sullivan insisted that he turned the package over to the inspector general after he was not able to determine who created it.

What, the PeeResidnet Lawyer was smearing Yovanivitch? Was it because she was pointing the finger at Putin's little green men?
