This wasn't my plan

If you're using I.E. from your drop down menu at the top of the screen, choose "Tools". Then, from that drop down menu, choose "Internet Options". On the screen that comes up, you should see "delete cookies" somewhere. To also cover something else that might be hounding you, you can also choose "delete Files" to delete all of your temp files. They just add up and you don't need them any more, once you've used them. The stupid computers don't delete them for you like they should.

Doing all of this should require you to log in with name and password for anything you had such a login for. All of that info is saved in the cookie, for each web site.

Hopefully, this will clear it up, if it was a corrupted cookie file. But, it very well could be something else, and Manu will be your best bet to fix that kind of thing.

You will want to exit out of I.E. after you do this, and then bring it back up again. You can also reboot, to wipe everything out of your RAM memory. That way, you are starting with a clean slate, so to speak.

Good luck with the login being fixed. I know how you feel about that. Losing everything you've used for such a long time really sucks.

I had no intention of changing my name and especially not at this time but Lit no longer recognizes me or my password or my email address.

I came back to my computer and it told me that I had to re-log on... something I've never had to do. And then it would not recognize any of the information it asked for... not my email address(es) and I tried all three, starting with the one I know I assigned to this particular site, or my password.

This is a bunch of bullshit but I don't believe that anyone here has any question regarding who I am or who I was. ;-)

Didn't this happen to Sinnocent once?

I'm so sorry. That would suck so bad but um, I can't help it. The  is making me do this . . .

*sing songs*

ADR's a virgin, ADR's a virgin . . .

LOL!

Damn devil. He's a meanie.

FurryFury, that was just mean. Funny, yes, but mean. Someone should take you out behind the woodshed and whup your naked behind. :p

And blaming in on the devil? Is that fair? That poor devil is always taking the rap for mean things people like you are doing. He has rights too, you know. For that, I think the devil should enter my body and take charge of you for a well deserved punishment.

I could then enjoy the whole thing and honestly say...the devil made me do it. But, you know? Something in the back of my mind is telling me you could also say...the devil made me enjoy it.:D

ADR, I hope you've got this thing figured out. I know you can sometimes fix what you think is causing a problem just to have something else pop up as the real culprit. And don't worry, I'll take care of FurryFury for you, and enjoy doing it. ;)

edited for a little clarification...
Actually, I was humming the song along with you. "Like a virgin...for the very first time..." and I don't even like Madonna...except she has a nice ass.

Poor Miss Rox, if we could ever remember the password for ADR's_amplebust you would have had another option.

I've had this happen a couple of times, no idea why......the latest was yesterday when I logged on my laptop to find that ALL the sites I visit wanted me to log in again  I hadn't done any system maintenance before that so all the cookes should have still been there

Luckily I use one of three passwords on each site, and if I forget the odd one I have the email with the details so I can get back in.

Hopefully the glitch is fixed and we can have the lovely ADR back with us soon :rose: :)

Like your cookies and shit get reset. That's what it is. Your computer is cleaned or forgets it's cookies.

Yeah. Something like that. Right? Am I right?

Oh and DVS? Bring it!

Damn ADR, that's rough! Hope it gets straightened out soon.

If not, can I be the one who gets to "de-virginize" you? ? ? ?

Hey Roxy!

When you come back maybe you should consider switching switch to Foxfire?

It's a bad thing when your computer tosses its cookies.

I did everything and some extra stuff, that DVS reccommended. Was a very good idea and plan to be better about that kind of maintanence. But when I checked the email site dedicated to Lit this morning, I had a new password assigned to me (thank you, Manu, if you did this for me.) And it worked.

Now I have a real clean machine and a semi-full PM box (all old stuff), my AVs, post count and my ignore list back (LOL). It's nice to have it all back.

All is right with my world. ;-)

Also, when I've finally decided that there are just too many Rose's here, I can change my screen name real easy, cuz it's already done.

There's the silver lining.

I can go back to being lazy because the name's been done and ready for me when I think I'm ready for it.

Being lazy... it's what I'm good at.

Thanks for helping, caring and missing my name... LOL

I've worked all night and am saying good night!

We could probably write Manu and get that figured out... ;-)

So, this is your story, eh? You're going to lie and pretend that you didn't have to come to me grovelling for the opportunity to buy back your ADR identity and password, giving me an obscene profit for a short-term investment? You're going to go on with this charade of self-sufficiency instead of admitting that you agreed to every single item on my list of demands?

Very well, but let me remind you that item 7 in my list includes some very, very real spankings. You'll be posting from a standing position for a week afterwards, you know.

We'll see who's laughing then.

And I'm not at all afraid of that weasel Grissom you said you'd have looking into my case. I know where Lady Heather lives and she's on my side. Bwa-ha-ha-ha.

Glad to have the real you back, lady!

(Now get your picks in for this week's NFL games!) ;)

http://www.library.drexel.edu/blogs/thesuggestionbox/Cookies.jpg Man, I LOVE chocolate chip cookies and those look GREAT!

http://www.bobbleheadstore.net/devil.jpg Oh, and Ms. FF, is this bobblehead thing suppose to be some kind of warning, or maybe to scare me off? Actually, I think it's kind-a cute.

And you said "DVS...bring it". Do you want me to find this bobblehead and bring it to you? Or were you trying to tell me you're tough or something? :p

Actually I was trying to say I was more than ready and hungry for whatever you were offering to bring.

:D

Speaking of online privacy and Lit/computer problems.

Numerous times I try to log on here at Lit to discover someone has just tried to log onto my account here several times back to back, thereby using up the number of tries before another attempt is made.

Yea..............scary shit.

I have had my email/browser page hacked too. Had I stayed logged in at the various message boards I'm a member of the hacker would have access to the PM boxes on all these sites...............not only compromising my personal info but everyone else's info that I've been in contact with as well!

Although it may be a hassle,I log in & out on every site I visit these days. I copy & paste important PM's and emails to a private addy that is not associated with any signup info that has been throw around the web.

I suggest anyone change email and message board passwords every couple of weeks........... and even then use a healthy mixture of letters and numerals to make a hacker work for it!!

True online privacy is a fantasy.............

That is very scary stuff. I guess I could write my passwords on a sticky and attach to my computer, if I changed them every couple weeks because there's no way I could remember that. I use the same password for almost everything, even for my log-on at my various work areas.

I know that's not a good idea...

But the upside of this is I have a new other name when I decide I want to use it and the password for it and anyone who cares, will know exactly who I am. ;-)
