Some call 'em catheads....actually, my mama calls 'em "drop biscuits", 'cuz ya get the dough to "drop" off the spoon ( or whatever) , and they take that shape. Flat bottom, domed top.....not all purdy like a Mc D's biscuit or one that was cut round out of rolled flat dough...( thus yielding cylindrical results).

Is is southern? Dunno......certainly po-folk style......and dern good with tomato gravy!
