... and it's funny too.

http://web.mountain.net/~jmmings/conan.htm

The link is to a page called Conan the Grammarian. There are numerous articles on the use of the English language.

They are written with a good deal of tongue-in-cheek humor and a healthy dose of sarcasm. However, they are also very good sources of information on the use and foibles of English.

I loved the site, but thought that sometimes, he was a little harsh on people. :) But then, I'm sure you could have guessed I would say that, Harold!

In one of the articles, he admits that many of the letters he is replying to are letters he has written to himself so he has something to reply to.

He does have a PUNishing style. <G>

Thanks Weird Harold, forever thinking of us aren't you? What ever would we do without you my friend? I will have to check it out, looks mighty interesting. Hugs Kat

This means YOU! LOL:)

This would be a useful bump IF Conan were still at that link -- Which he's not.

You might consider checking the links before bumping threads this old.

Might I suggest a wonderful book called Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss? Punctuation with humor--you gotta love it! :)

A good book, but my orignal post five years ago was about an online resource with both humor and good advice about grammar.

Richeard Lederer has moved and expanded his onlne information at http://www.verbivore.com/

His links page haslinks to just about any information you could ever want on the English Language: http://www.verbivore.com/rllink.htm

(Including a link to "The International Save the Puns Foundation")
