This Question Comes To Mind

First, drop the racial framing. Voting laws apply to citizens, not to “white men such as yourself.” The requirements under the SAVE Act proposal don’t change based on race or sex, and assuming they do is precisely the kind of identity-based thinking you claim to oppose.

Second, the claim that minorities and married women would be forced to “carry around the documentation of their life” every time they vote is inaccurate. The documentation would be required at the point of registration (or when updating registration), not every time someone casts a ballot. Once verified, the registration stands unless there’s a change requiring an update, which is already how most voter rolls function.

Third, name changes due to marriage or divorce are not a new administrative challenge created by voter ID proposals. That documentation is already required for passports, Social Security updates, driver’s licenses, bank accounts, mortgages, and countless other legal processes. The argument seems to assume that voting should be the only civic function completely insulated from standard identity verification.

Fourth, if there are specific implementation concerns, cost of documents, access to issuing offices, bureaucratic delays, those are legitimate policy discussions. They can be addressed through fee waivers, streamlined verification systems, or automatic data matching. But labeling the entire concept “racism and misogyny” without engaging the mechanics of the law is misinformed rhetoric, not analysis.

Finally, when an argument leans heavily on insults (“Mushbrain,” “Orange Hitler,” etc.), it usually signals your emotional certainty replacing factual precision. If the case against the SAVE Act is strong, it doesn’t need caricatures to survive. If the concern is access, let’s talk access. If the concern is equal protection, let’s talk equal protection. But shouting groundless motives into existence isn’t the same as proving them.
Yup. The process for me after I got married was so easy I’m sure even a liberal woman could do it.

When people argue that people of color are inherently less capable of obtaining identification, they risk exposing their own inherent racism with those condescending assumptions. The same forms of ID required to access government services, including public benefits, housing assistance, or Social Security, are generally sufficient for voting purposes as well. If identification is considered reasonable for those functions, it’s fair to question why it would be uniquely burdensome in the context of elections.

It's not about being more or less capable. It's about ICE at polling stations making it even more difficult and likely causing people to carry more with them than they should be required to deal with.

You don't see it because you're not the one targeted.

Is the nation on the brink of seeing intelligence that confirms foreign meddling in 2020? Will Donald Trump reveal proof of victory so compelling that the Senate has no choice but to move on the Save America Act? Just askin'.
What a stupid question.

Anwer: Nope.

What deal would Trump make to settle this? He likes deals. A fraudulent presidential election is too big for just throwing a few hacks in prison.

With ICE at every polling station, how do you expect things to go?
I expect to see white men breeze through the voting process.

Minorities and women, not so much, particularly in neighborhood "closely patrolled for 'election fraud' by ICE" (Orange Hitler's Brownshits)

There are no "fraudulent presidential elections". This is a non-troversy ginned up specifically to discourage certain demographics from voting.

Me too, but I'm hoping it'll spur turnout, whether it be by absentee ballots or neighborhood watches pushing back against ICE or whatever. There is no better way to get Americans to do something than for anyone associated with the government to try to stop them from doing it, after all.

Bingo.

These fuckheads.dont dislike cheating. They just don't like being the ones who aren't doing it

Pretty sure it's a resurrection of T&T69, banned for threats developed from very similar posts. Not so much down a rabbit hole as digging a deep mine of rabbit shit.
Yes, Iluv17 used to be T&T69, and I think he had at least one other user name before that.

he's obviously a kid, more than likely around 14 or 15 or so, judging by his verbiage and way of speaking, and thinks he's being entertaining and edgy by trolling the forums with his crap. Either way, his ban-hammering is long overdue.

Meanwhile I beleve it's not even worth engaging with his antics. I've tried to reason with him but it was an obvious rookie mistake. It will take the admins to deal with him- hopefully soon.

If they do, produce a Real ID, also known as a Star Card, or a driver's license. You have to have one of the following to receive food stamp benefits: a driver’s license, State-issued ID card, a U.S. passport, a Military ID, a birth certificate, a Social Security card, a Work or school ID, or a Voter registration card.
You know what they won't accept?

Trump's Citizenship Gold Card.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

I looked up the requirements to change your voting address here in Texas, it's pretty straight forward.
You go online, fill out a form, print it off, mail it in. DONE.

Under the new SAVE act, you have to look up where the voter registration office is (country clerk's office), get your passport (or birth certificate and any divorce or marriage paperwork), get a current proof of address (utility bill, cell phone bill no longer accepted), make an appointment and go show up in person, during regular business hours (meaning you'll likely have to take off time from work at the temp agency you work for).

Mail in voter registration, "motor voter" and registration by phone is specifically outlawed.
Using a Driver's license is now insufficient for registration purposes. Yes, even the so-called "REAL ID" drivers licenses.

The purpose of the act is to make voting as difficult as possible.
