7 days after his 10 year-old child dies after an altercation in school, no-one has told him what the nature of her injuries were and what caused her death.

the fight was with another fifth grader, the fight was stopped, the child was unconscious when paramedics attended the school, and she died two days later in hospital. this seems a terribly long time to keep her family in the dark about how she died :(

god, that smells like some people are trying very hard to cover their asses because they fucked up.

i just don't know what to make of it. two 10 year olds get into a fight, no weapons, i guess she could have fallen and hit her head causing a brain bleed or something... but surely to god the hospital must know the cause of death? how long does it take to postmortem if they don't already know? how long to sign a death certificate? and if they really do not know, or are unable to determine the exact cause, then why haven't the family been informed?

i can't begin to imagine the grief this family is going through, and this is making it so so much worse. the other child and their family are likely having all kinds of awful shit to process, too.

the article's been updated:

Medical University of South Carolina performed Raniya's autopsy on Friday, but results will not be released for several weeks, said the sheriff's office and Duffie Stone, the solicitor for the 14th Judicial Circuit in South Carolina.

is this a normal length of time over here?

toxicology takes weeks. sometimes they will conclude cause of death without it and release the preliminary report, but sometimes toxicology is needed. They test for a lot more than just like a standard drug screen, review for interactions etc. For example, the fight might not have done serious damage, but she may have a prescription that interacted with something the nurse gave her, causing a stroke. Or possibly something in her system made her blood less likely to clot, so an injury that would be a mild concussion is now a severe brain hemorrhage. That is where the long wait comes in.

ah, thankyou for that insight. appreciated. :rose:

don't be a cunt. two 10 year olds in a classroom. one little girl has died. her family are grieving. wtf would you come in here with that shit? shame on you.

They are so stuck in that persona that they know no other way.

The other 10-year old "girl" was ODing testosterone. Raniya called "her" a sissy, so "she" smacked Raniya upside her head. Raniya fell and hit her head. Hard.

This is why America isn't one of the happiest places to live anymore.

He's a little unlikable narcissistic sociopath, he's pouting because everybody on here hates him. Hopefully he never has to lose a child. Unfortunately, this board tends to attract the lowlives despite many decent posters. Don't mind him.
