the fashion magazines are the ones most guilty of promoting the constant need for new clothes. every season, practically every week, they are selling some new 'look' that is most often a recycling of an old look. but, you have to have it if you want to be trendy, chic and with-it, right?
i don't know about vogue and how their layouts are done but i've recently gotten gq and esquire magazines at the library. we sit and laugh at the absolutely absurd prices on the men's clothing...$300 for a tee shirt, for example. NO ONE pays those prices unless they're maybe a drug dealer.
i wonder if anna wintour will put her money where her mouth is and start featuring vintage or recycled items in her fashion spreads?
