seeing as how cym left and that waters just too damn cold :) just why do you think they're so afraid to come out in the open? I've heard of all the excuses like getting flamed or their feelings hurt but damn, turn the computer off and it will all be better tomorrow. Ahhhh....
cym will be back; now you just sit yourself back down and get acclimated to the temperature of the water, it's not really cold.

You know, i think it would be really cool if hoards and legions and throngs of formerly invisible lurkers suddenly came out of hiding and began conversing with the rest of us as if you'd known us forever.

It would certainly spice the place up.

It would be WAY better than a flame war.

It would be fun.

Hi, Cherry.

Come out... come out... wherever you are... all the rest of you...

Hi Cym

Ohhh sorry! I thought you liked that ~wink~

And yes, I know you well ... you're one of my favorites.
Words of wisdom, often the mediator, stong-minded yet vulnerable ... and at those times, defended by MS (Creihdne sp?), who adores you.

All settled in your new digs, are ya?

STG's got a weird fetishes thread. Maybe you ought to mosey on over there with this kinda perversion, hmmmm?

u2slow13, i didn't leave *leave*, i just left for a bit. One sometimes has to talk on the phone, too, you know. You still want the matches? What are you gonna do with them? I can tell you now: Muffie doesn't play that way.

Great advice, cym.

I'd only like to add to not take anything too seriously. It's really easy to misinterpret the written word, especially when it's not being written by a professional. Sometimes people have a dry sense of humor (I do) and without a ";)" it could seem mean-spirited, but it's usually just in fun. Also, don't take offense from lack of responses either. Sometimes people don't make it back into a thread and may not have seen what you said.

Above all, just be yourself. Have fun! Make your personality come through in your posts.

well thank you lukky :) and to you cym, you already have some fine candles burning there

Do you know that there are, like, four+ kinds of M&M's these days?

Plain
Peanut
Krispy (i fucking hate it when companies deliberately misspell perfectly good words!)
Peabut butter (no, i don't mean Reece's Pieces)

Any others?
Besides the almond kind that a couple other people mentioned, I heard someone talking about mint flavored M&M's for Christmas.

Cherry?
You sure have a great personality peeking out there.
De-lurking is kinda fun, is it not?

GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yuck!
Ptooey!
NASTY!!!!!!!!!

It's bad the fuck enough it's in ice cream, you know?
Mint belongs in flower bed borders.
And... and... in tea, on occasion.
That's it.

Mint-flavored M&M's?
Oh the unmitigated blasphemy!

Re: lurkessa

what the hell is a troll?

Someone who lives under a bridge?

Nice to see you come out of the shadows. You're not freakin' invisible to everyone.:D

Do you remember what green one's were alleged to do?
...teenage viagra..:)

Peabut butter (no, i don't mean Reece's Pieces)

Oh lord...please no Reece's Pieces...my ears are burning :)

Is no one going to mention the new Dulce de Leche M&M's? Personally, I prefer the bittersweet micro-choco-cock, but that's just me.

Plain
Peanut
Krispy
Peanut Butter
Almond
Mint (for GODS sakes... not fucking mint M&M's)
Dulce de leche (what was wrong with the original milk chocolate ones, hmmm?)
Green aphrodisiac M&M's???????

Does registered "^^" know about this atrocity?

I think a bittersweet-micro-choco-cock sounds pretty good, too. At least it only comes in one flavor.

lurker

Don't know if I qualify as a lurker as Iv'e only joined about 30 days ago. God knows I'm a "Newbie"...hate that but can't be helped.

Just poured me a strong one and thought I'd swagger through the rooms in this thread. Hope I don't spill on anyone.

Trying to read as many threads as I can so I can get the lay of the land..

I have found myself grinning at lots of the humor here, and really love some of the discussions on serious subjects (Although I won't probably jump in much) I take very little too serious. If you get to know me you'll find out why.

Thanks Cymbidia for the advise....

You can't possibly take much too seriously with that av. Rather, we couldn't possibly take much about you too seriously with that av. It's *perfect* for Lit. (And i've seen a few of your your posts, too. You seem to inject just the right touch of dryly observant humor into your words. AND you can spell and punctuate. That's a big plus in the eyes of the Grammarian faction here, you know.)

Got pics of your cock? All the newbie American men have to post them, you know. If you're shorter than 11" then you'll have to stop posting here cuz everyone knows, if they read ANY of our stories, that all American men have at least 11" cocks. We can't have you downing our stellar average. European men (and the few Americans who cheerfully owned up to micro-penises from the beginning) are exempt from this requirement as everyone knows they have little dicks anyway.
;)

Another Bit of Advice (with ponderous intonation)

Don't be discouraged if you start posting and it seems like nobody responds to or acknowledges you. Actually, if you really notice, a lot of the posts by regulars are not directly acknowledged, it's not just you. Everybody is chiming in to the thread, some things get referred to, some don't. Don't worry, people are reading it. Compare the post count to the view count on a thread, and you'll see what I mean.

Hi, Never!

Thanks Harbinger!

That little tidbit of insight is really helpful. Failing to remember that dynamic - each time you post - can derail a newbie's confidence. Sometimes the silence is deafening.

Cym dear,

10 posts every day? Really? What if you feel like you're rambling amongst all of the 'erudite' intellectuals?:)

Hey Harbinger! That beats silence anyday.:D

Oh gods yes, all newbies *must* do 10 posts a day. And Harbinger is soooooooooooo correct. Even if no one responds, it NEVER means no one sees you or hears you or smiles at your words. Erudite? We're all that on occasion. You are, too. Mostly, though, we're not erudite, we're just playing around. You know that already, don't you?

Instead of allowing your doubts to assailing you, concentrate on the more correct fact that you're being seen, you're beginning to find your voice, your place, your spot here.

"Newbie" isn't some kinda death sentence. Most often, it refers to someone who simply hasn't yet carved out his/her niche. That's for you to do. There is no magic number of posts or length of time between being a newbie and not being a newbie. It's an attitude.

Rubyfruit was never a newbie.
I sometimes still feel like a newbie.
Whatever spot you claim here will be yours, unless you're so obnoxious we have to oust you in the Court of Public Opinion.

Brain to fingers and into the slipstream. All of us; that's who we are here.

Yes.
Ten posts a day.
Get going.
And don't be paranoid.
We see you.
And we're smiling over on our side of the monitor.

I am late to a big fancy brunch. Adios!

Cymbidia,

Well before I lose all "Newbie" self respect, I must tell you that my spelling has been compared to "Raw Shit" at times. In fact I have a case in the courts right now pending that alleges that my grade school teacher was more interested in my 11" than teaching me spelling.

I gave in then with showing it, but can't make that mistake twice. Who knows what damage it would do to me this time. Besides if I did, you wouldn't respect me in the morning now would you?

:D
