Looking funny isn't so bad, but smelling bad is something he can probably do something about.
Some guys don't know how to wash their clothes or use detergents that don't include enzymes which they really need to get rid of some body odor.

Girls like me prefer men who wash their clothes in products like Tide free and take showers once or twice a day, before bed esp. using scent free soap or at least something I don't react to

Personality sometimes is just a nerves thing. However, if he is one of those guys who can't take no or doesn't listen when you ask him not to do something just tell him that and walk away.
